Re: Leeds goalie’s turn to be a PRAT today
Always feel a bit sorry for Meslier(sp) when he fecks up as he looks like a teenage kid.Originally posted by BLUETIT View PostWhy do goalies suddenly think they’ve turned in Beckenbauer or Pele ??
In all fairness to keepers nowadays, many play as sweepers and don't like the old hoof up the field.
Leeds like playing from deep inviting the opposition on to create the spaces from which to attack.
I reckon if he did hoof it he'd probably get a bollocking off Bielsa for doing so.
Saying that, he's getting one for that! :hehe:

Re: Arsenal v Leeds warming up
I feel slightly grubby admitting to this but I am beginning to quite like Leeds.
The to hell with attitude is producing some entertaining stuff for us neutrals in comparison to some of the tedious caution first type of game plan that currently seems to dominate.
What with a grudging respect for Swansea, this season, I feel that maybe I should be excommunicated from the bluebird extended family.

They will get found out next year if they don't add better defenders .Originally posted by Majorblue View PostI feel slightly grubby admitting to this but I am beginning to quite like Leeds.

I like Bielsa but have got no time for Leeds. A horrible fanbase in a horrible city.Originally posted by Majorblue View PostI feel slightly grubby admitting to this but I am beginning to quite like Leeds.

Leeds people are completely different from Sheffield people who I always think almost exactly like us in culture.

I think that may be something to do with common work history. Tend to understand each other.Originally posted by B. Oddie View PostI like Bielsa but have got no time for Leeds. A horrible fanbase in a horrible city.

It reminds me of another commonality I never realised for many years. In Cardiff in pubs men play a game called 9 card Don. It can often result in arguments and even fights and when I was a young boy all the dockers and miners played it, all hard men.
Only in about 1995 I discovered that the only other places in the country it is played are Liverpool and Manchester, and that is because of the movement of workers (mainly dockers) to and fro between the cities in years gone by.
Ask any of your friends from other places if they can play the game and they'll tell you they never heard of it.

Re: Arsenal v Leeds warming up
Let's be frank, most PL stuff is as boring as shit. At least Leeds aren't obsessed totally with possession like most managers. Never understood the antipathy towards them and their fans on this MBOriginally posted by Majorblue View PostI feel slightly grubby admitting to this but I am beginning to quite like Leeds.

I still play it, sometimes for decent amounts of money. :thumbup:Originally posted by xsnaggle View PostI think that may be something to do with common work history. Tend to understand each other.
