Re: excellent Wales online world cup article

The author name is surely made up to disguise a bizarre contest at WOL to write the most convoluted load of nonsense possible to say we did well to qualify but were exceptionally disappointing having got there.

I thought it was ok from a literary perspective, and the authors intended audience probably wasn't a bunch of Neanderthals on a football message board.

I'm not sure I got the dog metaphor though, or if the author knew what they meant to be honest.

The Wales fan was a dog that wasn't being spoilt and having struct rules but is now getting what it wanted and is now on the couch and getting everything?
I don't get why she used the 'Year 2 dog' nonsense and even if you ignore the weirdness of it all it just doesn't work.

Sorry to repeat myself here, but I'm honestly ready to be persuaded by someone who can put together good arguments against the opinion I voiced on here yesterday that not one member of the welsh playing, football management and coaching side came out of the tournament with their reputation enhanced or even unharmed - I don't see any saving graces anywhere.

As for the article, I honestly struggled to understand what she was trying to say.
Fair comment. We were very poor. There was little energy and even less ambition. The biggest disappointment was the failure to master the basics. Our passing and first touch was generally awful. After such a long wait it proved to be a big anticlimax.
I’m not at all angry but certainly deflated and saddened the players underperformed on the biggest stage they will ever play on.
