      Re: Tomlin player coach

From the Ilkeston Town FC website "ironically his move between Cardiff City and Nottingham Forest was a swap loan deal with current Robins player-manager Jamie Ward moving the other way."

Did Jamie Ward actually play any matches for City? I'd totally forgotten him.

Tomlin pretty much got us into the play offs single handed under Harris. I know McCarthy wanted him to be at full fitness before playing him but I would've preferred he hadn't been so stubborn and just used him as an impact sub for 10/15mins at the end of games. He had the ability to turn losses into draws and draws into wins in that short time.

Ultimately a disappointment at Cardiff in my eyes but he did provide us with some fond memories (Leeds away especially). Whilst it largely rests on his shoulders, I don't think he's solely to blame for his disappointing time here.

Didn’t he start vs Reading in the promotion game. Fair play, Warnock loved a curveball.

I hope Tomlin does well, he’s clearly a troubled bloke. Same as Koumas, actually. He was fun to watch and made that season worth watching

I can't remember if it was against Reading but I did see him play at home. I remember Warnock shouting at the ref "he's the smallest f*cking player on the pitch" after he'd given away a free kick against one of their giant CBs. I have to admit , he was tiny!
