I watched the documentary about his dodgy life last night. ‘The Footballer, His Wife & The Crash’. Very interesting programme, seemed like he was involved in some seedy stuff towards the end of his life, sort of ‘get rich quick’ schemes after squandering his, not inconsiderable, football fortune. Married an Iranian woman while still wed to his wife in the UK. His time with us was touched on as well, particularly the drinking ‘allegations’ prior to home play off game against Reading.

Dreadful loan signing

Samuel was travelling home after taking his children to school on the morning of 15 May 2018 when his Range Rover collided with a van in High Legh, Cheshire.

He died at the scene and the driver of the other vehicle was seriously injured.

At the inquest in November 2019, it was revealed that Samuel was twice the drink-driving limit and that his car had strayed onto the wrong side of the road, causing a head-on crash.

Glad the kids were out of the car at the time

The most interesting aspect of the documentary was the gradual unfurling of the very complicated and furtive events in Jlloyd's life.
It's such a pity that anyone reading this thread won't have that dramatic component to look forward to.
