Right it’s a sign, we’re going up.

It'll be the first season ending in a 3 for 50 years that we haven't won promotion, having gone up in 1983, 1993, 2003 and 2013.

We nearly changed divisions in 1973, staying in Div 2 on goal average above Huddersfield (who, of course, beat us to the league title in 1924 on goal average). Huddersfield won their last game of the season but we were left with needing a point from our 2 games in hand to survive.
