I don't think you have quite factored in the Mbappe timeline. Before the world went to ratshit his new role in a defensive midfield pivot in tandem with Ethan Ampadu was something to behold.

I believe Messi was 24 when he scored 91 goals in a calendar year. Let’s see what Mbappe ends up on in 12 months time. The longer Mbappe stays at PSG the worse that’ll hurt his legacy too imo. It’s a much less competitive league compared to La Liga.

Mbappe's greatest assets are his speed and power which I suspect will have diminished long before he gets anywhere near Messi's age. Messi on the other hand reads the game like no other footballer I've ever seen and is able to run full tilt with the ball barely more than a few inches from his feet. For me he's the greatest.

I dont think mbappe will ever reach the level of Messi in his prime. He’s better currently, but he doesn’t have as much to his game. Messi makes the right decisions, his vision is unreal, the pass is always perfect. It’s impossible to compare players from different eras, but Messi is the best of this one.
