Should we be dragging our feet on the new manager so much?

Most other clubs have a shortlist of managers they fancy if the worst happens and their manager leaves. Let's be honest the Hudson decision hardly took us by surprise did it. 6 days on and nothing.

While we should be getting our man in and giving them time to assess the squad and then add to it from the already reduced pool of loan and free signings we're having a he said, she said tit for tat spat with the insurance broker over the Sala situation.

    Shambles, it really is.

It really is quite remarkable when you consider how quickly nearly every other club acts, and the desperate situation that we are in.

Didn’t Spurs sack Poch one day and appoint Mourinho the next?

And also I read that some club (is it Brighton?), maintains a list of potential future managers, with the full understanding of the incumbent manager, so that they can act quickly if the manager leaves for another job (or they decide to sack him of course)

Once again mate, this would require the owner and board to have a plan. They haven’t had one for years.

Why wouldn't you have a list of managers that you'd think would work at the club in case your one got poached (as if) by somebody?

Why is it that in virtually every aspect of the footballing business City seem to do things different to everybody else?

I'm not sure why it still shocks me if I'm honest.

You'd think the last time we messed about and then just went for Hudson might have taught us something. Not here.

If the novices at the club were learning something along the way and not repeating mistakes it would be a small positive. They repeat the mistakes they've already made. Big glaring mistakes like not having a clue who they want as manager or starting their search after the last one has gone.

Despite what many think the club is in a dreadful mess - or at least it appears to ne from what we can see or are allowed to see. The owner has obviously a tremendous business brain and has an empire worth millions; however - he clearly is not a football expert and seems to have lieutenants around him who are equally short of skills in this area.

The transfer window (and admittedly we can only bring in loanees and freebies) closes soon and the replacement manager is yet to be appointed. It is laughable..

What is even more worrying is former players who seem to think that because they like the club and live locally are ideal candidates for what is a very tough job. A seasoned professional is needed and not one who started drawing his pension nearly a decade ago. But who is that man? And would he want to come here?

It's one of two things for me.

                  Either option a)
It's all about luck in Tans mindset.

Try Morison - He might have a bit of luck. Fell out with him, so appointed Hudson. Wait and see what happens. Might be lucky.
Holds on with Hudson, luck might change, so doesn't get possible replacements lined up.
Whitehead is caretaker - Might be lucky with him, let's wait and see. No point getting a shortlist yet, might be lucky

                  option b)

They do have a list of targets and none of them want the job.

I think it's a mixture of the two

                    Vincent had a dream,
                    To build a football team,
We have no money so we have to sign players on loan,
We try to play from the back,
                    With no one in attack,
                    We're Cardiff City,
                    Who's next for the sack

                    Believe in Vinnie.

12 days of due diligence and interviews is acceptable, no game next week either. Taking advice from the clubs football advisors.

Let's all have a cuppa and chill, it will all blow over.
