    Re: Six Nations thread

I watched both games and Wales are seasons behind instyle & development. Ireland v France was an open, fast, running, skilful game, one of the best I’ve ever seen. Wales just tried to bludgeon their way up the middle, too slow, too predictable and out of touch.

I'm not a rugby fan and didn't watch the match but did pick up on Jiffy's post match comments and he could have been describing us.

Anyone old enough to remember this game?

It is more than 60 years since a Scotland-Wales slugfest signalled the "death throes" of rugby and changed the way the game is played forever.

I can remember reading about it, but it was just a bit before my time.

Though only six points scored in that game, it may have been a thrilling encounter compared to England - Wales a year earlier which finished 0-0. A year later Scotland and New Zealand also drew 0-0.

Has any team ever fielded a worse 9 and 10 then England are here. Awful players. Farrell alone has probably cost England 10 points first half. Hopefully the Italians can take advantage and launch a comeback

From the results of the 1962 Five Nations it must have been a snooze-fest from a points scored perspective. Wales scored just nine points in their four games but only lost one of them.

I bet the people of Wales and Ireland were on tenderhooks for months waiting for that game that was carried over to November to be played.

Wales’ nine points came from two penalties and a drop goal

Biggar needs to leave his ego in the dressing room. He was poor again.

It’s going to get worse too, I can’t see Wales getting anything in Rome either. Before long the question will be whether Georgia should replace Wales in the Six Nations.

17-24 Italy v Ireland. Great first half. Wales miles behind all teams this year but still wouldn’t rule out a one off win later
