Lots of songs you hear and think I didn’t know Burt Bacharach wrote that - back in the seventies I thought he wrote easy listening crap, but, down the decades I realised the error of my ways.

                  RIP

                      R.I.P Burt.

So many great acts covered his songs, but I especially love the ones covered by Dusty Springfield and Dionne Warwick

Together with lyricist Hal David they wrote some of the greatest songs ever. I'd go as far as saying they were the greatest pair of writers together of all time and no one comes close. Or ever will

Forget Lennon and McCartney, this pair were the real McCoy

Hard to disagree with any of this.

Timeless songs that I still listen to today.

                        RIP Burt Bacharach.

RIP to a song writing legend. Hard not to like any Bacharach/David songs, even the ones with the dreadful Cilla Black.

What do you mean, forget Lennon and McCartney ? A stupid statement to make. Both of them along with George and Ringo were responsible for changing the world. Very talented to say the least, and ahead of their time. As for BB he was undoubtedly a brilliant songwrite. Of that, there is no doubt. Went to see him in concert a few years ago down the Millenium Centre. Really good night from this iconic musical genius. My favourite songs of his- Close to you, the first 45 I ever bought, followed by “ This guy’s in love with you”. The music world will be all the poorer for his passing.
