they have spent a small fortune already this summer !
think if he goes out on loan would be to a championship club

Leicester City have completed the signing of right winger Matías Soulé freeing up Kasey McAteer to move to Cardiff City next week.
would that be a loan or permanent signing?

Has to be a loan surely, although it’s not made clear here.

In Campbell's case I agree. But I wouldn't turn my nose up at Stansfield.
12 goals for a relegated side is a decent haul, especially for a 21 year old with a lot of potential resale value if he does well.
Fulham are supposedly asking for 6m but I'd imagine that could be heavily structured with add ons and conditional payments.

That is a good return of goals.
The thing about signing new players for me is :-
Do they suit the way we play? If they don't can they replicate what we've seen them do elsewhere in a city shirt..
There was originally more than one point, hence the :- but it's gone.

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
I don’t think we need Drameh if we show faith in some of a crop of very promising young full backs coming through. If Ng stays, we’ve got two experienced Championship full backs plus the likes of Ralls and O’Dowda who can fill in on the left, Tanner was effective in that position as well at the end of last season and I can’t see why he couldn’t do the same on the right. We’ve also got Tom Davies, plus Giles and Beechercoming through. - Conte played on the left in the second half on Sunday. I’ve not mentioned Bagan because I feel his future may lie in central defence, but he’s played about fifty first team games as a left back.
We haven’t got the same strength in depth on the right and it looks like Romeo is leaving, but Chambers could certainly fill in there if needed, Conte looks like he can cope there and Kpakio, who can also play on the left I believe, looks like one of the better youngsters produced by the Academy in recent years - there’s also Spiers who is highly rated by many.

Conte on the left on Sunday was he? Interesting.
I think the way to go for teams like us is to have a solid 11, a couple of squad players then fill the rest of the gaps with the youth that show they are worth the punt. I understand from a managers POV why they try to get as many experienced players in the squad as possible but like you point out, we've got experience that can cover a few positions, so is it really worth having 2 senior pros per position? Some will say it's silly not to go this way, fair enough, but I reckon the 11 with a 5/6 decent backups leaving room for the younger lot to come through. Lets show them theres a place for them if they are worth it, and not have some 32 year old bench warmer blocking their path.

Our problem last year was that we had a good first team to get us in the playoff positions, but then lack of depth to cover the injuries dropping us down to 12th, it's also much better to have 2 square pegs for every position, that one square and one round.
Man City and good teams look for two players per position, and youth as back up to the back up, but it's fluid and if they get a Foden they through them straight in.

That depends if you have round hole or a square hole.

I don't think that at any point did we look good enough to make the playoffs last season

Relatively speaking, we were pretty good with our best eleven and gradually dropped as the overall squad had lots of gaps, in relation to other teams in our league.

Maybe not to stay there but we reached them briefly.
The point I was making was our first eleven was fairly good, but the squad overall was not good enough, and we suffered more than other teams through injuries.
It was in reply to someone saying we don't need a good squad let's just have a good eleven, and some kids and hope it works.

Was likely you that I read saying about it, but I think a few people have the same feeling. If something falls into our laps we cant turn down then id understand but just taking punts on random kids from other teams academies seems so counter productive.
