Seen talk of when Ingram qualifies as a local player. If I was a south African selector I'd be tempted to make that academic and call him up. Unbelievable season from him!

Interesting article here about Marnus Labuschagne’s startling decline as a test batsman and how his figures have declined in direct line with changes which, purposely or not, have crept into his game. I think Labuschagne is contracted to Glamorgan for next season isn’t he and he’s been a great servant to the club as he stayed loyal to us when he was top of the world rankings,but should we be looking elsewhere for 2026?

I don't know the ins and outs of the relationship but surely Glamorgan would benefit from any financial growth and success that Welsh Fire have, and the owners seem very bullish about that. Although he does acknowledge some of the big barriers to Glamorgan's long-term success.
On a side note, I'd be tempted to watch a few more Welsh Fire games if they could attract the likes of Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, and Rachin Ravindra.

It's a difficult one. Happens quite a bit when a sport becomes reliant on a team or individual and the rules start getting changed or relaxed to accommodate them. Ronnie O'Sullivan and Lance Armstrong spring to mind but there can't be many sports that haven't been held to ransom by their big hitters at some point. The cricket authorities must realise the situation is starting to get out of hand but they'll be wary of killing the goose that lays the golden egg too.Quote:

I read that with interest as well... I guess the next question is would you have been OK with the potential 80% loss of revenue that would have resulted that the article suggests? It's hard not to see a future where India becomes the dominant nation at every level but especially the short forms of the game given the economic and population figures at play.
I’m not sure why people get uptight about hordes of youngsters and 15-25 year old male/females packing out a ground that sees 150 as a good crowd in the 4 day game. I’m just as comfortable watching a 4 dayer as T20/100 and it doesn’t take too much brain power to see it as just another cricket occasion.Quote:
