The Derbyshire game was a big improvement and we were unlucky not to win, but yesterday was a demolition job (albeit against a weakened Kent side). I said earlier in the thread that I didn't think we'd win a game this season, but they seem to have cut out a lot of the sloppiness from the first three games, and they're not giving their wickets away as cheaply which always helps.
Kellaway seems like he's having something of a breakout season, and while I don't want to jump the gun on Tribe just yet, he really looks like he could have the temperament and technique to be a long-term solution to that opener problem.
I should also say I've been a massive critic of Fernando, but it finally seemed to start clicking for him in that second innings. Bowled some terrific lines, very accurate and hostile, and picked up some key wickets. If he can maintain that for the remainder of his time here, he could yet be a success.
I agree about Fernando. There was a suggestion on here that we drop him rather than Ingram when Labuschagne plays his couple of games. I didn't comment on it at the time, but I didn't disagree and I also thought of hiom as beign the one to step down toi accommodate a return for Mason Crane, but he was looked on it from the start yesterday and, if he's going to bowl like that, then he has to play.Quote:

I appreciate that the recent 181 not out helps his batting average a bit lol but Bashir would do well to score 180 in a season.
Now I'd rather not lose Kellaway to England but there isn't even a comparison. My dad watches almost every minute on stream and he was raving about Kellaway having talent although he wasn't quite doing it. We went to a couple of days of the Sussex game at the end of last year and I've never seen a spinner beat the bat as much as Kellaway did in one spell, it wasn't even a particularly helpful wicket.

Glamorgan 424 all out and Northants 49-3 in their second innings at the close.
It started with a much improved performance v derby when they nearly grabbed victory from what seemed the absolute certainty of defeat. Followed it with a superb 3 day ‘romp’ v Kent and now a very positive 2 days v northants. Couple of observations, well done Andy gorvin - like a new signing this season - and what a disastrous arrangement for glammy the bashir loan was - I know that’s been covered, but I’m still shaking my head at it!
Fantastic from Kellaway again. My words have been well and truly eaten, he's turning into a fine player. The way that Timm and Gorvin are combining runs and wickets is brilliant. Is it too early to mention the P word? Maybe this could be our year
