Couldn't the new owners just drop the case? It's a VT case mode than anything isn't it?

sure then we would have to pay the full transfer fee to Nantes presumably

Re: Are we the most attractive prospect to buy of all the Championship sides?
Any London team would be ahead of us. Then clubs with smaller debts and more efficient running costs.

Yes. But the looming Court case would be gone, i presumed the potential owners wouldn't like the publicity of the case.

if I was an idle billionaire with my money burning a giant hole in my pocket then I'd probably be thinking about the current criteria
1: price
2: current assets ground/players etc
3: current fanbase
4: potential fanbase
5: marketability
6: academy track record
I don't think we would be in the top few of many of those criteria, not sure about price

Re: Are we the most attractive prospect to buy of all the Championship sides?
There's a wikipedia page, here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...football_clubs, where they estimate the potential financial backing available to the majority of the 92 English Premier and EFL clubs.
According to that, Newcastle United is richer than all others combined. Surprisingly, on paper Barnsley's owners make Vinnie Tan appear skint in comparison.

Bournemouth have done well with 100 million.

Perfect time for an investor with deep pockets to buy us this summer. Clean slate, only about 3 players on the payroll. Buy Steve Cooper out of his Forest contract, tell him to bring Johnson with him and away we go

- Capital city
- 1 City team (no rivals within 12 miles)
- 2 million people in relatively close catchment area who have been starved of top football for decades
- Welsh football and language on an upswing
- Relatively new stadium + facilities
Bristol City would also be an attractive prospect, and Forest (2 Champions Leagues)
I'm not sure that any of these apply, at least, not to any great extent (maybe catchment area).
I would say that what potential buyers look for is:
1. Little or no debt.
2. Reasonable price.
3. Potential.
Everything else is much the same, wherever you go.
Cardiff has little debt (compared to most), could be available at a reasonable price, and has great potential.

This,
Debts, Assets, ROI & potential. Whether we like it or not, it’s a Business first & football club second.
Who in their right mind would take on the debt, then knowing that the club permanently runs at a loss?

Someone who sees potential and can sort that out? Surely running at a loss permanently is the fault of the current owner? I guess in football, though, this happens regularly and the scale of the losses is maybe more important? How many clubs make a profit?

Re: Are we the most attractive prospect to buy of all the Championship sides?
We have been through this in the past. If buying CCFC was such a marvellous opportunity wouldn't we expect to see a Welsh benefactor come along?

Interesting. Forgot the Venky's still owned Blackburn.

Re: Are we the most attractive prospect to buy of all the Championship sides?
The potential , catchment area argument blah blah blah is only worth mentioning if these people turn up to watch us
We have bigger potential support than forest , derby , stoke etc
But their fans actually turn up whereas a lot of ours stay at home or just see us as a second team behind their premiership favourite
It's a joke

The club has spent almost 2 decades in the bottom 2 divisions. Clubs with a similar history to ours tend to have bigger fluctuations in crowds than clubs who have almost always been in the top 2 divisions, particularly if they've enjoyed longer terms in the top flight. We've barely been a top flight side for generations.

8th biggest home support in the championship for our worst season in 20 years. Very embarrassing....

I’m amazed we still have such decent support to be honest. What have we had 2 really successful seasons in 40 years? One in red that ended in disaster and the Warnock one. I guess you could throw in the league 1 playoff final even though we were quite fortunate to go up that year.

Roman Abramovich is looking to invest in a friendly country/club .

If you took out away support for most clubs, I’d say our “home-only” crowds is probably higher than 8th.
Look how many away fans regularly go to other grounds in much larger numbers compared to ours.
