Re: Jay Slater missing in Tenerife
Was involved to some extent in a machete attack. Now it seems he posted on Snapchat boasting that he'd stolen Rolex. I can't say he's attracting much of my sympathy.

It's OK though, as his mum thinks he's just 'a normal guy'

And yet the local police say that the men at the AirBnB place are "irrelevant" to the case. Bizarre! It's the first questions I would have asked - who were these blokes and did they know this lad beforehand?

Maybe the police asked the questions and were satisfied with the answers.

And he's probably out there for reasons that aren't good either, drug smuggling. But dying of thirst in the mountains is probably a harsh punishment.

Would I want him to suffer that fate if the rumours are true (the machete attack isn't a rumour of course)? Probably not. Would I care if he did? Same answer.

The more I've thought about this the more I actually agree. It doesn't matter how he meets his demise.

Ooh look. Another thread that gets left. Please explain the rules. I’m confused. Also tenacious.

Re: Jay Slater missing in Tenerife
Hes a naive teenager, stole a 12k watch and told some London county lines gangsters who have clearly been around the block a bit. Dont need Sherlock Holmes for this one. Cockneys ran Veronicas in the 90s, out of Bobbys. Went there in 98 and it was sketchy as **** then. Once was enough, never go back there.

What does "Cockneys ran Veronicas in the 90s, out of Bobbys" mean?

‘Veronica‘s is an area and ‘Bobby’s’ is a pub in that area.

I think the rule being followed is that anything that is overtly political or night become political gets moved to the other board. The rest, whether it's football related or not, gets left here. Personally I'd prefer this section of the board to be purely football but I don't think that's how the mods see it.

Agree. While I understand that the thread was obviously very personal for the op, it was by its nature also politically related.
