My earliest memory of the draw is very old-looking Bert Millichip and squeaky-voiced Graham Kelly doing them on TV.

From what I can gather the last midday Monday draw was 1999, maybe correct:shrug: it was football tradition that the draw was the dinner time on the Monday after the Saturday’s previous round. It was part of the FA’s business of the day and, from what I can remember, the radio coverage started just as an FA official was saying “And the next item on today’s agenda is the draw for the next round of The Football Association Challenge Trophy”. The excitement & anticipation has been severely diluted in my opinion with the celebrity thing of the present.

I was there.
I won't be going this time.

It was exactly that. And I for one loved it!

Exactly. Reading some of the comments you would think we have too much excitement to deal with so we must ‘play the kids’.

Same here, was in the Mason’s Arms in Whitchurch playing darts and we phoned the Echo to find out the result. Seems only like yesterday. Spoiled the night.
