Wonder how long Ramsey will last, my guess is done by mid September

Nah, not on this occasion it's just nice to gauge opinion and see how people are feeling, it is too early to know who we will sign and what will happen yet.
It will be interesting to see what has happened in the transfer window and how people feel just before the season starts though

I love the way a clutch of youngsters have developed in the past year and forced themselves into consideration (and onto the plane to Austria). It is still the time of year when I can dream that Ramsey and O'Dowda will stay fit, that Rubin Colwill will tear up the Championship, and that another 4 or 5 signings (including 2 strikers) will transform the squad. There will be plenty of time for pessimism later, when reality kicks us in the head!
Has anyone mentioned Tommy Conway as an option? Isn't there some FA/FAW rule that we have to sign a certain number of Bristol City players over a rolling 3 year period? He was their top scorer again last season and wants out!

Was reading about him and thinking he'd be a good signing for us. 12 goals in both of the last 2 seasons, still only 21. Out of our price range perhaps?

The seems to be some Rangers interest - although they have missed out to Championship teams a few times this summer.

I read something about QPR striker Lyndon Dykes and Blackburn. Cant really say I've seen a lot of him, is he better than anyone we've been linked with?

Fingers crossed they will learn from last year and take things very cautiously, if he feels a twinge take him straight off and rest him for as long as is needed.
Talk is that he has worked through the summer and is feeling pretty good, a fit Ramsey would add so much, even for half the games.

Not gonna happen. Hasn't happened since his decline at Arsenal. We need to forget about him. Don't start him. Have him come on in the last 20.

I thought it was a romantic rather than a pragmatic signing from the off. His wages could have been spent on someone more limited but who would be fit for most of the time. Many people disagrred with me at the time.....
I see City as being mid-table this year and still rather goal-shy (unless they not only sign someone decent up front but somehow learn how to supply him, which would be novel).

 I reckon Ledley could still do a job for us. We need a decent beard in the squad since Gunnarson's departure.

Jak Alnwick ?

I'm not sure if there is a Striker who suits our style of play.

What are peoples opinions on what we need under the current regime? As Bob has pointed out more than once, the club is a graveyard for strikers in recent years

Re: How do you feel about the coming season?
Can't wait .
Glad Erol stayed so we can build and have a consistency.
Glad non City , non Welsh K. Moore went elsewhere.

Any truth in this cantwell rumour. I’m assuming not as £6m was quoted in same sentence.

That's not bad compared with our current forwards plus he can put in a defensive shift.

Re: How do you feel about the coming season?
Did Ashford play wide in the academy or through the middle.?

Probably not, but we have been mentioned.

" Elsewhere, Todd Cantwell has been touted with a move away from Ibrox this summer. Social media swirls have floated Cardiff City as a potential destination with some even claiming an offer had been accepted. And while it is reported that "several" English clubs have "declared an interest," no firm offers have been received at this stage.

Yes, so many of those 2 goal defeats would have been wins if they'd have played all season....

Usually through the middle I think.

It was almost as if they worked out after saying it a few times it was an easy wind up so said it another 56,996 times for a laugh.

We'll have to do it considerably more often to trouble the playoffs. Last season we had the 2nd worst goal difference of any side to finish in the top half of any of the top 4 divisions, one of the worst defensive records of a team finishing in the top half and the worst defeat record. For all the thought that we were quite close to the playoffs, we were also miles away in far too many respects.
