So, with Keir Starmer now getting tough on the disabled and proposing DWP changes that, if the Tories had implemented, would have been vilified, do Labour voters still think "at least we got rid of the Tories"? Conversely, do Tory and Reform voters agree with these things or are they wrong because they're Labour initiatives?
Politics is getting very weird.
Starmer is much further to the right than Boris and Sunak, but with the disadvantage that he can't manage basic economics and has applied taxes to stop business growth we are in a right mess.

I think Civil unrest, possibly violent conflict is sadly inevitable across the West.
Tolerance to opposing views are non existent on both sides now and I believe there will be carnage.
I do realize that this sounds hyperbolic but it’s what I believe.

There are no opposing views in politics, though. The "left" and the "right" are the same. They're right wing, they're offering no solutions, the rich get richer and the middle class is getting eroded and the working classes are collateral damage.

I really hope they are just front loading the medicine as they would put it. If they intend to go on like this, it’s merely a different government dealing out the same hopelessness.

Absolutely spot on.
The issue in this country is inequality. The super rich are getting richer , the poorer worse off. The rich will continue to buy assets , house prices will continue to rise etc and more people will end up in poverty.
The media controlled by those particularly on the right and wealthy who are happy to allow the public to be brainwashed into thinking that immigrants are the main issue.
Was it the Duke of Westminster who inherited nearly £10 billion pounds and paid no inheritance tax.?
Large increases in tax need to be put on the wealthy.

We don't have a left at the moment, just when we need one. At the moment, politics is scared of the threat of the far right, so they're all lurching that way to try and nullify it. I dread to think where we'll be in 10 years.

Politics is getting very weird.
Labour is again harming the economy, higher taxes on businesses stifle growth, and their stealthy tax increases leave us worse every time. You can’t trust any of them.
As for tackling those who don’t contribute, what more can they do? Just impose more taxes while allowing them to drain the country’s resources?

I think if I could perform magic I would snuff out starmer , Reeves , rayner , lammy , Reynolds, Cooper and replace them with competent ministers
I would bring in a lot of liberal , green , Plaid, snp and independents and old school moderate conservatives
Throw that all in a pan , simmer for 20 minutes

Yup. while we're all told to work harder if we want better, because hard work is good for us, but when we work hard and things don't get better, they actually get worse, then we blame ourselves for not working hard enough, it's the mantra passed down by the super rich and those who have their interests at heart. And we're taking it, and at the same time fighting amongst ourselves like two boxers out on their feet in the final round, it's depressing to see so many people with so much in common being ripped apart by the manipulation by those who only have their own greed and dominance at heart.

Yes why bother paying your staff a decent wage to earn your profit. You hear plenty of squealing when these things are announced as if it’s the end of the world. You are a good example of this with no evidence.

I think a moderate , middle ground government , a coalition of all the non Tories would hold sway in this country and if enough heads were banged together we could be ruled forever by liberal , moderate government's

And with regard to electing a very right wing , quasi fascist government this country definitely has enough idiots to vote for that

No, not really. The main reason Reeves changes to employer NI were an issue at all for business is because they didn't expect them, they hadn't accounted for them. There is an argument to say they should have, given that Labour had so firmly closed the door on raising Income Tax, Employee NI or VAT. They have no other big tax levers to pull.
What they are fearful of now is further changes/shocks.

I think there is some truth in this, but I think the problem may be that any good will towards them, any "new manager bounce" etc was nipped in the bud and as such they have hi to confidence and growth.

Labour’s attempts to steal the title of the nasty party from the Tories no longer come as a surprise. Apparently, NHS waiting lists are coming down, so that’s something I’d hope for and expect from a Labour Government, but I can’t think of anything else they’ve done I feel similarly about - this new Government aren’t as funny and corrupt as the last one , but they’re just as heartless and pro the rich as them.

I would like labour , liberals , greens , plaid etc to merge
A more united opposition and a divided and split right wing will keep them out
