Many people even on here are obsessed by the "hard working" lies. I've never ever met anyone who made real money through so called "hard work". It's a horrible, puerile expression designed to be used as a wedge issue to further the interests of the elect few.

Keir Starmer:
“Labour has a fully costed plan to freeze energy bills.”
2024:
Ofgem announce a 10% rise in energy bills this winter & the Labour government cut the winter fuel allowance for millions of pensioners.

Not so much deluded as easily influenced by any passing tweet in his stream.
Starmer made that comment at the height of the fuel crisis two years ago. Since then energy prices have tumbled, the main reason that inflation is close to Bank of England norms.
Obviously if you just gulp down any passing opinion like soup then I guess you get where TWGL1 is right now.

Wholesale energy prices fell in late 2022 but there was a substantial lag before these fed through to consumers. The reduction in the price cap in April 2023 was not large enough to take it below the EPG level, so customers did not see their bills fall until the cap fell below the EPG in July 2023.
Stay in your Lane.
Now stop it MB this obsessed behaviour is making me wonder if you’re another odd one

Look, don't shy away from a debate that you started. You posted a seductive tweet of Starmer in opposition making a case for a costed plan to freeze energy bills at a point where on the two graphs I posted gas was at 600 compared with 95 now and electricity 500 vs 80 per mwh today.
If you are happy to swallow stuff off X and post it here without thinking what you are swallowing I guess I can't stop you but if you can add to the debate by explaining beyond other people's thoughts then we can engage, I guess.

You’re very selective in what you’re saying as usual as long as it fits your limits. Now shall we get back on track ? I appreciate you will do anything to make a point but as it’s already been proven that 10m pensioners are losing out financially. More is to come. Your playing the man as usual not the ball

Well if someone is cash rich in relative terms , as plenty of pensioners are ......thanks to years of the Tories bribing them .....then 300 quid is a piss in the ocean
There is the opportunity for many affected by the policy to get help via pension credit
A very small percentage will lose out but if you have a 20 k budget for the year then losing 300 quid is fake tears
You are crying for those who are doing OK mostly

As far as I can tell there will be around 3 million pensioners badly affected, including those who do not currently get pension credit and those who are just above the breadline.
Is that your very small percentage???

That's why there is a push to get these people to get pension credit
It's everywhere especially social media
We dont live in a 100 percent fair society and at some point the pensioners who have been blanketed for many years , for their vote , were going to take a hit
This drama is giving the Tories and those who vote for them a target but there we go

It is mental how you react differently to things depending which party does it mind. You would be like a lit match in a fireworks factory if this was the Tories.

It's mental how that for the last 20 years on here you would defend the Tories even when they are standing over the body with the knife
Day in day out
I think starmer dealt with the riots superbly and I may not be championing these fuel payment cuts but it's a drop in the ocean compared to what YOUR lot has been doing for 14 years
With the right wing vote split you are just going to have to keep moaning because the worm has turned

But that is 800,000.
And by the time they get Pension Credit approved, they will probably be too late for this years fule credit.
And you obviously couldn't really give a stuff for the other 2 millon odd who are just above the pemsion credit cut off
Your mealy mouthed crap about 100% fair really doesn't cut it.

I see the thug who smashed the female bobbies nose in hasn’t been charged yet

Nothing to do with what religion he is ,( he is a thug ) so let’s not go down that route particularly as a few members of my family are Muslims and my best friend is Lebanese if you want to meet me or any of them for a Lemon Tea and home made Baklava then PM me because you are starting to sound deranged.
It’s to do with the fact that the Bobby had her face smashed in yet the perpetrator hasn’t even been charged. TWO TIER KIER.

I'm curious to know what Labour would be saying had the Tories won the election and decided to cut the Winter Fuel Allowance. Would they have said "Fair enough, they have to balance the books, after all..."?

Don't talk nonsense
If this guy was just a thug who punched a female copper in the face ....it does happen sadly .....it wouldn't have been mentioned by you or anyone else
The incident at Manchester airport is being used to push the agenda that Asians, muslims etc commit a crime and they get off easy .....they havnt even been charged yet etc .....and the rioters got done straight away....hence two tier keir
That's what it's about

The incident in Manchester is being pushed by you to suit your delusions. The TWO TIER KIER was mentioned because the facts as of today suggest that a rioter who was simply at the event was jailed and yet a thug ( regardless of race) is still awaiting trial for smashing a female police officers face. Race has nothing to do with it from my perspective no matter how hard you try.
You really need to think about what your own agenda is sonny. Remember not that long ago you wanted unvaccinated people to undertake work against their will ( my body my choice) , what ideological bias is that FFS.

If you think I am falling for that you must think I came down in the last shower of rain
The Asian thugs at Manchester airport .....two tier keir example by the right wing
The labour former Councillor saying throats should be cut .....he's been arrested .....and charged ......but that's not good enough ....two tier keir
Riots in Leeds a few months ago .....35 arrests .....many charged ......two tier keir
It's goes on and on
If you want me to take you seriously you need to drop that two tier keir nonsense , its something out of the playground and you are just putting yourself up to be shot at
The incident at Manchester airport was not a riot or a serious public order situation that's why the suspects were not in front of the judge so quickly
Emergency courts are part of our legal system .....poll tax riots , miners strike etc .......hundreds and hundreds were arrested on serious charges and many have got lighter sentences because they are all over cctv and pleaded guilty to avoid 4 , 5 year stretches
Assaulting a copper is probably going to get those at Manchester airport 6 months tops but that's because those will be the sentencing guidelines
Of course some will cry two tier keir etc etc but it's just nonsense
Use your loaf

Starmer the Pensioner Harmer will be next this Winter when it's heat or eat for many.

Re: Labour Election Promises (Broken) Thread
Rumor has it, that their next big idea is to scrap or reduce tax-free pension cash amounts, that will be shocking and make another huge difference to pensioners' retirement if they go ahead with that, they would be daft that would finish them, it would almost everyone saving for retirement, and undo a lot of good work, as more people now re in work place pensions.

It's being used by idiots who are right wing and have an agenda
If you think starmer has influenced the police in Manchester NOT to quickly charge and prosecute those involved in the airport attack on their own officers ......whilst doing the opposite with the rioters ......and according to the nutters give these rioters heavy sentences ......then it's another one of your potty conspiracy theories
