Think it’s the heaviest defeat of my City supporting life now.

I don't know how this can be just shrugged off because "they're much better than us". 0-7 is a shocker. We're not a league 2 team away to Man City in the cup.

Re: LEEDS UNITED v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I’d imagine that was Leeds best performance of the season vs our worst. They looked like a team of athletes while we looked like a team of old codgers at the pub. Shocking performance.

Re: LEEDS UNITED v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Well at least we don’t have to play them again for a season, and can enjoy them getting stuffed every week in the Premier League!

Ridiculous comment.

Re: LEEDS UNITED v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
That is bad news for our goal difference
With things so tight at the bottom, that defeat could relegated us.

They sold their best players last season as well.

Leeds' GD is more than our GS!
-
Re: LEEDS UNITED v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
So whose to blame? Meitie? Colwill? Kanga???
Really poor performance today. We set out our gameplay completely wrong and then switching to three at the back second half was even worse. Probably Leeds' easiest game this season.

Re: LEEDS UNITED v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Gutless display. Absolutely embarrassing,

REFUND the travelling fans and pay off their mortgages. Give a small low interest small business loan to those who watched on TV

Re: LEEDS UNITED v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Embarrassing. Really embarrassing.
As if we were accepting of defeat before we kicked off but it was way worse than we expected.
Just embarrassing.

Exactly.
It felt as though we knew the unbeaten run was going to end today and that attitude set us up for a total massacre.

And a free holiday in Thailand based on Jon 59's latest Facebook photos!

Re: LEEDS UNITED v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We went into this game with an inferiority complex. Non-league cup teams would have played with more self-belief and given it a go than we did.
Sorry, but this result will inflict a mental scar, it shows our weak underbelly and likely to resurface again before the season ends.

Quite right. They're bloody heroes.

The night is young. I’m sure by 8pm Colwill will somehow get the blame as a unused sub.

Re: LEEDS UNITED v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Just as you start to let yourself believe we might have turned the corner.
-
Re: LEEDS UNITED v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
C'mon everyone, there are positives. It should have been 12-0, so we kept the score down with some good defending.

The way the manager has been talking lately I think he had started to believe the corner was fully turned and we were no longer relegation threatened.

Not me, Bob.
In May 1966 we lost 9-0 at Preston. The headline in the Daily Express featured Scoular's comment: "If I were a City Player I'd be Ashamed to Walk Down the Street!"

Spare a thought for the kid from Ajax.
Thrown on for his debut at 5-0 down. Great management.

Sorry, maybe I'm in a shitty mood right now, but I'm not finding this funny.
Yeah, I'm definitely in a shitty mood.

I was born in March 1967, so today was the heaviest defeat in my lifetime, and that comes after the club’s worst-ever start to a league campaign.
Fair play, these heroes of ours are breaking some records this season. It’s a good job they’re getting new contracts.

The life of a City fan, eh!

Re: FT: LEEDS UNITED 7 (seven) - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
For context, Leeds’ biggest victory this season before today was 4-0 against Oxford in December.

10-1 for me, 1945 Moscow Dynamo

Third time Scoular's side conceded 7 or more in 1966. He survived in the job to tell the tale.

Alnwick was a contract triggered by appearances. Probably cheap anyway.
Would you have renewed Robinson and O Dowdas.?

Course it was. The excuse I try to use for that one was that it was a few days after we beat Middlesbrough in the Farrell match to stay up and it was a real nothing game.
Strangely, Radio Wales have forgotten that game as well, they were reporting today as our heaviest defeat in seventy years.
