Just as you start to let yourself believe we might have turned the corner.

C'mon everyone, there are positives. It should have been 12-0, so we kept the score down with some good defending.

The way the manager has been talking lately I think he had started to believe the corner was fully turned and we were no longer relegation threatened.

    Not me, Bob.

In May 1966 we lost 9-0 at Preston. The headline in the Daily Express featured Scoular's comment: "If I were a City Player I'd be Ashamed to Walk Down the Street!"

Spare a thought for the kid from Ajax.

Thrown on for his debut at 5-0 down. Great management.

Sorry, maybe I'm in a shitty mood right now, but I'm not finding this funny.
Yeah, I'm definitely in a shitty mood.

I was born in March 1967, so today was the heaviest defeat in my lifetime, and that comes after the club’s worst-ever start to a league campaign.

Fair play, these heroes of ours are breaking some records this season. It’s a good job they’re getting new contracts.

For context, Leeds’ biggest victory this season before today was 4-0 against Oxford in December.

Third time Scoular's side conceded 7 or more in 1966. He survived in the job to tell the tale.

Alnwick was a contract triggered by appearances. Probably cheap anyway.

Would you have renewed Robinson and O Dowdas.?

Course it was. The excuse I try to use for that one was that it was a few days after we beat Middlesbrough in the Farrell match to stay up and it was a real nothing game.

Strangely, Radio Wales have forgotten that game as well, they were reporting today as our heaviest defeat in seventy years.

Seriously, I thought Goutas was our best player.

Which, regardless of which way you look at it, is a load of nonsense.

Don't worry. I guess we have a tendency to erase the worst results from our minds.

In a nutshell Rino (cm) and CO'D (lw) are not full backs. They have done a fairly decent job there but they are not defenders. Once they or most of the modern day full backs come up against proper wingers, players who have pace and take players on on the outside instead of incessantly cutting in (a la Saka), they are exposed. Cruelly this happened today.

Today may well have been an opportunity to play a simple 442 with Ng and Bagan at full back and El Ghazi & O'Dowda in front of them, thus cutting down the space in front of the full backs that a 4231 allows.

I wouldn't look at systems. I expected to lose but to ship 7 just shows a complete lack of guts and fight from all players and coaching staff.

I think they went up there expecting defeat and showed no fight.

Just pathetic the lot of them.

IF and its a big If we need serious changes in playing and coaching staff if we stay up and hope to progress next season.
