So McGuinness has joined Luton, for a significant sum according to the Hatters.

although he would have definitely been in the running for top goalscorer with that kind of form here

Eli King going out on loan to a League 1 club apparently
All part of his development, only 7 more loans before he turns 28 and is deemed eligible to play in our midfield

Winds me up when people say we don’t need to sign younger players as the kids are coming through. They’re not, he’s never going to play them and it’s highly likely he doesn’t rate them either.

at least a loan to league one gives a potential pathway into the first team - if a player goes there and does really well then there's a decent chance they'll do well at this level.
if you go on loan to the Irish league or the national league, even if you have a really good loan they still aren't going to put you in the side.

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
If I was King I would just ask to go on a transfer as it's clear with Bulut here he's not getting in the side. He had two good loans last season in league one and in the Scottish league where both teams praised him highly. What is going out on loan again really going to benefit him?
The thought process is clearly he's not going to get a game here so ship him out.
Bulut has said for weeks he wants more midfielders whilst he sends all our young talent out on loan. Let's get more free old has-never beens into the squad, just what we need.

he was on loan on league 2, and then a lower end SPL team. a good league one loan would be a good opportunity, especially as we have a lot of players.
he's about the same age McGuiness was when he went on loan to Sheffield Wednesday

See people banging on about how we're using a "blend of youth and experience" every time we're linked with another old player. We're not! We must have had the oldest team in the league on Saturday

He may have been in a 'lower end SPL team' but he had a full and successful season which included playing against 'upper end SPL teams' regularly.
I can't see the value in a third annual loan. Use him or let him go.
If Wintle leaves (?) and maybe Rinomhota (?) then King should be there competing with Siopis for the anchor DM role.

he went to the SPL at the end of January, and played 10 games in the regular season before the split to the relegation league and then a relegation playoff. Played Celtic once and Rangers twice

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
Bulut has stated publicly at a fans meeting that he sees Cardiff City as a stepping stone to establishing a reputation for himself in this country and a means to getting a bigger job. He has got 2 years to do this so we are going to get a degree of short termism from him. Whether he rates King or not I don’t know but Bulut probably doesn’t think that he is a player at the moment who can contribute to his aims and also, I would guess , that the backing Bulut is getting requires us to offload as much wages as possible. More loans out to come I suspect.

Always suspected this was the case. Probably thinks it's more likely 'established' players can bring him the instant success he needs, though apart from Bulut, Dalman and football 'experts' who didn't have to watch City in and out last season, ie the fans, he's yet to convince. I just hope he doesn't jettison any decent youngsters in pursuit of his own personal ambitions..

Siopis is the problem. He can't fill the role of a 6 or an 8. He imbalances the midfield. It also appears that under the current manager he will play every minute of every game.
I know some love Siopis for his efforts and energy but his lack of quality or physical presence mean that we are always going to be half a man down in midfield.

My mistake - I forgot the Morcambe loan came in the first half of last season. I still think he should be kept and used this season.

So we now have 7 Central defenders on the books
Erol I think we’re covered there, can you look at the other positions that we are desperate to fill, like a winger and a forward who can score goals on Sunday please

Man Utd player to have Cardiff City medical today ahead of £2m move

I would absolutely be up for us keeping him, but only if he was going to get games.
if he's playing regularly in league one then at least he can improve there and come back stronger, it would be on him to take that opportunity though.

League One it is then.
Andy Rinomhota to stay. 'A fighter' according to Bulut and it seems a versatile squad player. He played right back in pre-season?
