I suspect he did, but probably under his regular user name.
Re. Sian Branson- I actually thought she carried herself pretty well at the time. I knew her reasonably well in the mid 90’s, and was a little shocked when she materialised as the figure head of bluebirds unite- I can’t recall her following city when we were kids. But I could be wrong there. Any figurehead is going to cop attention and some flack. Fair play to her for making a stand and getting the protest movement going.

Remember the FC United of Manchester/AFC Wimbledon style team that (briefly) started as well? :hehe:
I shouldn't laugh but that was pretty half arsed

OK, I don't do much Facebook and Twitter but can imagine she was targeted.

Re: Cardiff City will play in red next season
God ,lets move on ,worse things have happened in the world then a stupid shirt colour change , its like none of us have ever made a stupid decision in our lives ,and if we have it never got turned into a into a drama .
Yes folk were upset , however I sensed bitterness was all about due to other factors like:
Death of the Sam gang.
Loss of the Ninian Park culture.
Ongoing Jacks success .
Relegated in our first year in the big league.
Wasted Transfer fee's.
Malky /Moody affair .
Not all fans took to the satansied new stadium.
Bigger corporate feel about the club.
Stadium atmosphere was dreadful compared to Ninian.
Just feel the red shirt (which was a mistake) was a handy exuse for some to use as their decision to leave.
Myself I would support them if they paraded in pink and yellow poker dots .

I think you will find that some of our most loyal and hardened supporters home and away were disgusted by the colour change , the way it was done and the capitulation of supporters .
I remember one bloke , a man mountain of a bloke , alfie , of mixed race who was as loyal as they come .
He rarely posted on here but did at the time of the rebrand , I exchanged a few messages with him . He was a tough , working class grown man and the was genuinely heartbroken at what happened . I dont know if he still follows city but I havnt seen him since the rebrand .
It really did hit some of our fans really hard

If that’s the case, you’re an idiot.

Re: Cardiff City will play in red next season
My relationship with the club changed the day we played in red.
To be fair I was drifting away from the days when I rarely missed a game but I still felt a bond with the team if only through years of watching and to a lesser extent family involvement with the club.
The red shirt episode was probably the final nail in the coffin in that the change and all that surrounded it showed how little respect there was for the individual follower. I gave up going and even now my games are restricted to a handful a season. I still consider myself a follower but now it is more a case of interest rather than dedication.
In all ,a horrible episode but as I watched it very much from the outside at least I was spared the bitterness that was reported on here . I had a long discussion about it with an ex well known poster on here a while ago and that confirmed what a vile episode in the history of this club shirtgate was.

NYCBlue. There doesn't appear to be too many disgruntled fans in this bumper crowd. There were either thousands of hypocrites at this game, or thousands of fans who like fans the world over, will turn up as long as their club are doing well.
Ive absolutely no doubt in my mind, if we’d have stayed up that season, and had the nous to build on it and become an established Premier league club, wed still he playing in red,, and still be getting crowds reflecting how well we were doing.
Thats why its so daft and naive to let supporting your local club take over your life.

Some of them have confirmed as much in this very thread, and yet you still seem to be in denial about that. No matter, for plenty of City supporters the re-brand era was full of dark days.
Meanwhile, absolutely nobody stopped supporting Cardiff City because Emiliano Sala died. His death was indeed a dark day for the club even though he'd never played for it and the club's hierarchy is maintaining he never signed for it.
I was going to say I'm not too impressed the comments you've made regarding the feelings my friends had about the club at the time of their deaths, but to be honest I've never been impressed by anything you've posted on here.
To be honest, i don't post on here to impress folk. Do you?

The loss of Ninian Park culture and the groans about the new stadium were viewed by the overwhelming majority as the price for club and supporters would need to pay for continued development and investment.
The other factors you mention were just path of the course of watching City.
The ‘death of the Sam Gang’ is an interesting one. I’m genuinely interested in what you mean. I thought it was some of ‘Sam’s gang’ who were the biggest advocates for the change to red. It was even suggested some had vested interests in ensuring the change went through smoothly?

Just because they don't fall into your mantra and personal view on this matter , doesn't make one an idiot ,very shallow reply .

You're forgetting. This is TLGs expert subject. What he doesn't know about the rebrand and all that went with it, and followed on, isn't worth knowing.
Bit of a cult hero on here amongst some. Where as in my jungle, he’s just another monkey.

I always thought some of ‘Sams Gang’ used as enforcers to quash any opposition to the change to red. Whether that was an agreement between Tan and SG, collusion or more than likely some just taking it upon themselves they’ll only know.
Tan didn’t keep their attention access open for long.

Re: Cardiff City will play in red next season
I remember reading it on here after the West Ham game, laughing about it then coming back on here the next day and it was such a long thread by then that it seemed like there must be an element of truth to it.
I went on all the marches etc but when push came to shove, going to the games with mates and having a few pints on a Saturday afternoon was what it was all about for me at that age. Tbf not a lot has changed :hehe:
It was a strange feeling watching it red, that Brighton game felt horrific. Think I left that one early and went back to the pub. I would by lying if I said I didn’t enjoy the promotion season on the whole but it obviously had a massive black mark against it. Similar to the PL season. Second time round was much more enjoyable on both aspects and thankfully I don’t think we’ll see us in red again.
If there’s one good thing to come out of it it pushed me and some mates into doing the odd wales away in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and we’ve done most of them in recent years. Not sure if that would’ve happened if we’d been to a load of PL games.
Have a fair bit of respect for those who have never been back to the CCS since the change. Quite funny seeing some who have started going again but try and give 500 excuses for their reasons for doing so though :hehe:
Hopefully everyone will return in the future and we’ll get back up to close to 25k in the championship. Think we need a sustained period of 2-3 seasons in the Premier League to lure some “floating fans” in for good and that seems a way off with our current squad/manager.

Not having a pop, but you pointing to the first home game in the Premier League against Man City as an example of a "bumper crowd" is surely disingenuous. We weren't selling out games in the Championship a couple of years ago and managed to pack out the stadium for the Man City cup game. My ex-manager got a season ticket last year because he supports Man United and wanted to be guaranteed a seat and to watch Premier League football. How many people turning up for the big games do you reckon are actual fans of the club? Whether the club is wearing red or blue, lots of people in South Wales will be clamouring to watch Premier League teams playing.

Stadium atmosphere was dreadful compared to Ninian.
Really? Barring the odd cup game and very odd league game Ninian Park was as dead as a dodo since the late 60s/early 70s. You could talk to someone without shouting 20 yards away. The new stadium for regular crowds and atmosphere pisses all over Ninian Park.

I think what people mean is that when the atmosphere was good at Ninian Park, it was different to The New Ground. It certainly felt more volatile and aggressive, maybe that was due to the abilty to stand, the environment and the separation of stands.

It seems to me that the ones that enthuse over Ninian’s atmosphere were the ones that were beefing up the numbers against Hereford, Spurs, Man City, Leeds etc, obviously by the size of the gates they weren’t there in the 2000/3000 crowds against the likes of Rochdale, Darlington, Cambridge, Hartlepool and many, many more. But, again by the size of the gates, it’s most probably those fans that beefed the gates up at Ninian on the odd occasion that are going regularly to CCS due to the improvement in the football quality and then comparing a 20,000 crowd’s atmosphere for a run of the mill league game against the likes of Barnsley to the 20,000 crowd that they were in for a one off giant killing at Ninian against Leeds. And they weren’t there for subsequent league games after their once a season outing. For me it’s very much rose tinted, selective memories.

I thought the Warnock promotion season had a good atmosphere , you are right though there were times when Ninian was a lonely place , specilayy on a wet / cold winter's night with nothing on the game , when it rocked It rocked though.
