Of the 5 teams around us, 4 win and the other gets the point they need against us to more or less make them safe.
We’re going down with a whimper as it stands.

He's so slow in possession, always taking that extra touch, although that's all of them really, because none of them will commit to taking on the opposition in important areas of the pitch. It's been like it for the majority of the season. One real chance today in a game of this magnitude is shocking.

No way to prove this but I suspect no serious manager with other options at this level will work for the idiots in charge of our club. Or at least not after a couple of conversations with them.

Once promotion or relegation is out of your own hands, then it’ usually ends badly. Prepare for relegation now. Useless bunch of keunts.!

Did WOL have reporter at the ground today, if so he must have slept through it after giving these ratings.

I think we tend to set the bar quite low for our players these days.
Comparatively speaking, he may have had one of his slightly better days.
Sadly, all of them are ponderous, inconsistent, low on confidence, and have the appearance of a classic relegation team.

Totally agree with this. The bar is so, so low. Average ratings of 7.5 or whatever for a must win game in which we created next to nothing against another bottom feeder at home.

Like you say, we'll never know and maybe this is the catalyst for some actual change, this was always going to eventually happen the way we are run.
Agreed

Pep Guardiola could be in charge and he wouldn’t get anymore out of the squad than Bulut, Riza and now Ramsey could get. You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. This is the worst squad in over 20 years.

Yep, I agree. Even if we beat the two on the beach teams we’ve got left to play and stay up, it’s the worst squad we’ve had since promotion in 2003 - I’d say it’s got more talent than the 22/23 side, but that team could defend.

Agreed- the best 'performances' from City players this season have relied on fleeting moments in matches- a good finish (rare to see one of those), a hearty tackle or winning a corner- that'll get you a MOM in this City side. How often have they dominated (or at least shown themselves to be better than) their opponents over 90 minutes? Other than the Plymouth and Portsmouth games, they haven't. This City team is full of mediocrity and relegation is entirely deserved.
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 1 OXFORD UTD. Match thread
Did anyone really think we’d hold on for the win after our goal? How many times has the opposition just had to step up just a little to get back in the game and even win it?
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 1 OXFORD UTD. Match thread
Players are more precious than ever and I suppose if they want to maintain access Wales Online needs to be sympathetic/charitable. Why was Salech cupping his ear after he scored? Was it a case of Youssef can't hear you or how dare you criticise us? Just thought it a bit strange in the circs.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 1 OXFORD UTD. Match thread
Their "thunderbolt" goal may have bee a hell of a strike, but shirley Horvath should have ensured that he had it covered by positioning the wall and covering any gap? It wasn't 'over the top' a la Witts.
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 1 OXFORD UTD. Match thread
Horvath gives me no confidence whatsoever

The problem was the lack of closing down. We gave them a free shot after the free kick was played.

Tan is actively hostile to any and all positive direction for this club. He must be vociferously and relentlessly opposed and made to feel unwelcome here. The rot starts at the head, we are where we are because the atmosphere, mood and morale of this club is in the garbage, because we are owned and run by a mental invalid and two equally culpable underlings.
They must be gotten rid of the moment the Sala case is over, and we must find keen, intelligent owners who will invest.

It was a bit more positive, some players played a tad better but you're dead right.
I agree with your point as well, I think this is the worst squad we've had since we got out of the bottom tier.
We'd lose to a side with Alexander, Gabbs, Kav, Thorne and Earnie in it

We should have moved Heaven and Earth to sign Kyprianou in January instead of him.

I feel sorry for Rambo, having a bunch of wasters to pick a team from
Some of them really let him and themselves down
Our recruiting has been diabolical over the last few seasons
We have some real wasters, donkeys and shithouses in our current squad

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 1 OXFORD UTD. Match thread
Mannsverk carried the ball well at times and looked fairly neat bringing the ball up the pitch, but then may as well of had the shirt number 404 as he had literally no idea what to do with the ball next.
The player who deserved his praise today was Willock who turned out the kind of performance I was hoping he would all season. Keeping full backs busy, delivering crosses and always making himself available to receive a pass. His counterpart on the opposite flank, Ashford, had a day to forget. He was never at the races, struggled to get the ball under his spell, plenty of misplaced passes - and I may have nightmares tonight over the pass he failed to play to Robertson who would have likely been through on goal.

I do agree with that, it was a worldy and i doubt many thought he would have such a great strike.

The commentators really did excel themselves today with their praise of the improved performance including Mannsverk, Mrs HB had 90 mins of me shouting profanities at the commentators, they must come as a package with this squad.
