I did say he was a match winner a while back and he clearly was in 20/21, so what point are you trying to make?

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
Seems to be a done deal. Announcement maybe later today, if not then tomorrow.

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
This is what my QPR mate said, he's a proper fan goes to lots of games.
"Was awesome 2022/23 Season mate but fell out big favour last year and started on bench "
Make of that what you will

Sometimes you just need a fresh start, if he signs let’s hope we have someone lined up to capitalise on the creativity and the crosses that we need to see.

Yes and he said he was awesome prior so that will do, let's hope he's awesome here

He doesn’t score goals, is poor at set pieces, and half the time you wonder what he’s actually doing on the pitch
Let’s be honest, no one from the Premier League is going to make a bid for him, and any championship side chasing a top 6 place would want better
He’s playing in the Championship for us because he’s cheap, this is he’s peak
Personally I wouldn’t keep him as a squad player
I’d forgotten about Adam’s who looks like he’s joining Derby anyway after having a decent loan spell there
Every single word of the above post is wrong. Just because he isn't flash doesn't mean he cant play - he gets about his work quietly and efficiently covering nearly every blade of grass most games. That is why Bulut gave him a new four year contract last season.

It’s odd. Willock started just 20 Championship games for QPR in 22/23, but started 27 in 23/24 when he’d allegedly fallen out of favour.

That’s great, thanks for sharing that, I look forward to reading about the many Champions League teams falling over themselves to sign him on mega money during the transfer window

Very odd, and sounds like he's wrong with the game's start, I'll clarify now, and ask him more about his opinion

He may take a bit to get back he'll be watching England in the pub, just a quick Google Marti Cifuentes took over 31st October maybe he didn't start him as much?
It was Ainsworth before him, wasn't it and they were in trouble.
Just a guess?
Oh just replied "Injured second half of 22/23"? whatever that means
I'll chat with him in the week and add what he thought of him.

yes he was along with Leicester City's Kasey McAteer but that's gone quiet this week
Doing the rounds today is Abdelkahar Kadri

If he does sign what should it be
Penned a deal
or
Put pen to paper
One is never quite sure about these things

seen a few people getting excited about Kadri on twitter, all I know about him is he was part of a Kortrijk side who were very close to getting relegated from the Juliper pro league - am I missing something?

Will it be ‘QPR Ace signs for the City’? Why are they always ‘Aces’?

I remember being in town one afternoon and saw on one of the South Wales Echo stands that City had signed a "Manchester United STAR".
It was none other than that household name... Derek Brazil. :hehe:

Also in the Echo , mid to late 70's " Italian star striker on trial at City " . My excitement was short lived when it turned out to be Tony Venditto , a waiter ( eventually restaurant owner) who I'd played alongside for City supporters f.c. the previous season in the sundsy league .He eventually signed for Cardiff Italians fc in the same league.

I remember that as well!
I last saw him about 10-12 years ago when he was the sports teacher at my granddaughters primary school!
I think he was also managing Haverfordwest at the time

Just a guess.
If the thread on the QPR fan site is anything to go by, it seems like Ainsworth bombed him out due to a lack of effort.
That was an interesting read. Willock sounds like a talent for sure, but it’ll be interesting to see what Bulut does with him given the comments about his work rate, or rather the lack of it.

I read that thread too. Alot of people dissing him but but for all that the impression that I got was they would have taken him back on in a heartbeat but couldn't afford what he was asking moneywise. The old fable about the fox and the grapes springs to mind.

Cardiff City are close to signing England international Calum Chambers from Aston Villa

I seem to recall Jordan Murphy turning him inside out a number of times in the 4-2 win against Fulham in 2018 until he was substituted.

Yes, I just checked that because it was my recollection as well. He was taken off after just twenty six minutes that afternoon and I think it was put down to an injury, but such was the chasing he was being given by Murphy, there would have been no surprise if it had been tactical.
That said, Chambers was a clear winner of Fulham’s Player of the Season award that year after he spent most of the time playing in central midfield.
Ten years ago, the notion that Chambers would be strongly linked with a Championship club during the summer of 2024 would have seemed ridiculous as he was winning full England caps and was signing for Arsenal as a nineteen year old. So, clearly, something has gone a bit wrong with his career, but, even allowing for this,it seems an ambitious signing by City of a type I was not expecting - I wonder if Aaron Ramsey has been involved in some way if the reports this morning are true

I'd expect Ramsey has had an involvement, plenty of interest much like Willock. Was a name heard last season ahead of signing Nat Phillips, as apparently Chambers wasn't keen to go out on loan/wanted to fight for his place at Villa.
If not Ramsey, maybe Bulut dusted off one of Morison's presentations.
-
Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
Will we have a players signed section, rather than trawling through this one when we signed something

Yes, I just read that Emery said he could go last January, but he opted to stay and fight for his place.
I’d forgotten about Willock and Arsenal, but he would definitely have been there at the same time as Ramsey wouldn’t he - heard anything about us being in for Xhaka or Iwobi?

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
Chambers would be a great signing, and along with Wilcock, shows real intent from the club.
