Yes, we did. I listened to the game and it sounded like a decent move which put Meite thorough on goal. Went for power and hit the woodwork.
I lost interest 2nd half but it sounded harsh that we were 2 down at HT on the overall balance of play. Problem is that often seems to be the case for sides that struggle.

Will we still be on 0 at the end of August?
Can someone do a poll?
I say yes

Re: FT: BURNLEY 5 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Former players say that Bulut hates losing matches. Don’t we all.
Sadly, he is incapable of putting together a solid defensive team, as well as having no interest in creating an exciting attacking team.
What’s the point?

None whatsoever, if they’d have taken him off after an hour he would have been a 6 out 10, as it is, he was 4 and, to be honest, it all got a bit embarrassing in the end.

So Ramseys injured , Ralls injured. Rinomhota to face the Jacks and a recall for Wintle?

Re: FT: BURNLEY 5 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We’ve got a team of gutless players. When the going gets tough, they get going. Bulut has to take a lot of flak for setting the team in a way that’s so easy to play through. We were an absolute shambles after the second goal. Playing well for the first 30 minutes isn’t good enough to excuse what was an absolute car crash defensively, again. For someone who is very negative, we have been awful at the back for Bulut’s entire time here.
-
Re: FT: BURNLEY 5 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
You can forget Ramsey. He wont play more than 10 matches this season if that

Spot on. Particularly liked the "Gutless Players" observation. Those ****ers are getting off too lightly in my opinion.

Not sure our players are intrinsically 'gutless'. I think with a McCarthy or Warnock on the touchline they'd be far from that. Bulut seems like the music teacher, the only one you weren't afraid of. But I also think the players haven't bought in Bulut's style of play - I was told this indirectly in the summer.

The worrying thing is Burnley didn't play that well, not that they needed to.
-
Re: FT: BURNLEY 5 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
It seems to me that the recent intake of strikers are muscle-bound lumps that don't show any kind of athleticism. It is often said that if a team of younger players take the kind of thumping we had today then it will shatter their confidence. Well I don't see that this kind of defeat does the senior players much good. Too many players are complacent in that they seem to think no matter how bad the result they will still be selected for the next game. A swift wholesale change to the starting lineup is what is needed. Tactics need to change but I cannot see that happening with the present regime. I rarely post anything that is critical of the club but today was just too much to stomach.

It might turn out to be a blessing in disguise that Ralls and Ramsey are not fit.
Start with Robertson, Colwill, and Siopis against Swansea.

Re: FT: BURNLEY 5 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
At the risk of inviting a pile on, although that was a terrible result it was also a bit of a freak scoreline. These stats are not normal for a 5-0 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football...14t#MatchStats
I think there's a team in there and we'll get a lot better (yes even under Bulut) but August will be difficult
Save me Jimmy

First half hour we were very good, best we've played in a long time and, miracle of miracles, we actually created opportunities from open play and were the better side.
Once Ralls went off we lost our bite in midfield and second half became a bit of a shambles.

I've thought that for a very long time. It's time Bulut and his style did one, and we replace him with someone half decent. Who though...??

Weird stats for a 5 0. Horvarth has got to be replaced and the defence needs reorganising.

The body language is awful. The minute we concede, they completely quit. Heads go down and they stop. I wouldn’t buy into it either though. It’s neither one thing or the other.
Something is fundamentally wrong at the football club.

Heads didn’t go down after the comical first goal, in fact they took the game to Burnley and were the better side in the first half. It was after conceding the 3rd that everything seemed to fall apart.

I wouldn't see Bulut and style in the same sentence. The guy is a total failure and the sooner he's gone the better. I'd rather red shirts than this plonker in charge.

I get that, if we could have scored first in both of our league games this season, things might have turned out differently. Most have been after a striker to put the ball in the net and, it seems at least, like we are trying to be a bit more creative.
However, we look a complete shambles at the back. As last season went on, we looked worse and worse in defence. Bulut has brought in an attacking coach, but it looks like we need someone who can organise things at the back.

Are our defenders good enough.? Goutas , Chambers and O'Dowda with Horvarth behind them?
Meanwhile we are selling McGuinness.

Heads were down after the second. Big time. They got through the rest of the half but fingers were being pointed. It’s not a happy camp

A bit unfair to label O'Dowda as a defender when all he's doing is filling in the position because of injuries.

Chambers was supposed to be a bit of a marquee signing, someone better than what we have. I know it can take time to develop partnerships, but not always. I seem to remember Roger Johnson and Glenn Loovens stepping in and looking the part from virtually the first whistle. Granted that an away trip to Burnley was likely to be a baptism of fire.

Meanwhile we've got a 22 year old with 55 professional games under his belt and an incredibly promising youth product who has not looked out of his depth and even been one of our better players any time given a game in the first team. Who both actually play the position, but are 4-6 years too young for consideration in a Bulut league lineup.

You're right. Danny Gabbidon, James Collins, Sol Bamba... all showed their natural ability right from the off.

NG had a pop at Ramsey, too. It was before Ramsey gave the ball away that led to either the forth or fifth goal, but it was a pass to NG that went straight out.

Ramsey is shot. He should have bowed out of the game like Bale did.

We aren’t bad at the back solely because we have poor defenders. Chambers and Goutas don’t look a good partnership but they’re constantly in 3 on 3 (or more) situations. We’ve got too many players further forward that have no intention of defending. We are a complete shambles. Goals like their third don’t just happen because the centre halves aren’t up to it.
