FT: SLOVAKIA 4 - 0 WALES. Match thread
What time is Slovakia v Wales kick-off?
Slovakia v Wales kicks off at 7.45pm (UK time) at the Stadión Antona Malatinského on Sunday, June 9.
Is Slovakia v Wales on TV and what about live streaming?
Yes, the match will be screened live on S4C , with coverage starting at 7.15pm. You can stream S4C’s feed live via S4C Clic and via the S4C app. The game is also being shown on Premier Sports 1, with coverage there starting at 7.35pm.
Team news
Page handed out five debuts in midweek - Charlie Crew, Fin Stevens, Jay Dasilva, Lewis Koumas and Tom King all made their senior bows - but expect the likes of Ethan Ampadu, Kieffer Moore, Daniel James and Brennan Johnson to return to the starting XI this evening.
What has Rob Page said?
Page said: “We were disappointed with the Gibraltar game but we must move forward.
“We’ll put it right and go again on Sunday. It’s another friendly and it is what it is from a selection point of view.
“The lads are on the back of three weeks off, so it was unrealistic to start with our strongest team for the two games.
“That’s the reason we picked that team to play Gibraltar because we want to expose some of the younger players to international football

Captain Ampadu speaks! I know a lot of people on here hate him, but I thought it was a decent first attempt. Now let's see him translate his words into action on the pitch.

That's as Welsh as it gets.

He's not very good.

Pleased to see him get the captaincy, it should be the first of many caps he’ll gain in the role.

Being chosen to captain Wales at 23 is a pretty good achievement. Most of the youngsters we all champion don't even make it in the pro game, and don't forget Bale's early career wasn't all that smooth. Ampadu is still fairly young for his position, so he still has time to bloom. My one regret was not sticking a £100 on him becoming the captain of Wales when he was 15

You'd have got better odds on Josh Sheehan being captain of Wales at 28 than Ampadu at 15.
Maybe stick £100 on Paul Mullin. Anythings possible with this set up.

Page wasn't the manager then, so a Sheehan bet was highly unlikely to pay out!

Could Mullin be the late developer who wins us the 2028 tournament?

Regret - why? That was one of your better decisions!
As Ampadu never became the captain of Wales when he was 15 you have avoided wasting £100.

What a butchery of our National Anthem....the 'management' couldn't even be arsed to lypsync.

Cracking game so far. Very enjoyable.

Re: SLOVAKIA v WALES. Match thread
Our midfield has hardly touched the ball, but good thing we're giving a 29 year old League 1 player some caps...

Re: SLOVAKIA v WALES. Match thread
Keeper shouldn’t be being beaten by a shot like that.

Probably something to do with playing about five games a season.

Re: SLOVAKIA v WALES. Match thread
Wales are a tough watch under Page.

Re: SLOVAKIA v WALES. Match thread
It was a feeble attempt at a save. It wasn't as if it was a rocket or deflected. I suppose that's what happens when you don't play club games

Re: SLOVAKIA v WALES. Match thread
We are the masters of turning attack into defence.

Ball watching by Cabango instead of defending the near post

Our only real thoughts on attack is to counter. If we are on the edge of their box the natural thing to do is go back to the keeper to draw the defence out.

Re: SLOVAKIA v WALES. Match thread
P45 time.
I'd not want Page at my local club.
Unless he'd pay for a 3G pitch.
