Starmer keeps surprising me.
Just when I think he can't be a bigger twat, and he has reached rock bottom, he finds a way.

What is their objection in the bill? I have not read much on it so genuinely curious

It looks like once you get into the nuts and bolts of it, the bill has been watered down to the point where the protections are next to meaningless and that the campaign are still hopeful of a complete reset and a more robust bill after dialogue with the leadership. This is one of those situations where the headline doesn't really match the story. Time will tell if labour want to engage with the campaign and create something meaningful.
Our press needs clickbait to survive, I remember reading all sorts of 'economic doom' headlines around the time of NI rise, all quoting portions of statements by the CBI. I was a bit baffled as it didn't feel like the kind of change that could destroy the economy and went to look at the CBI statement in full, it painted a very different picture to what the press was luring people in with.

Yeah I do find Peter Stefanovic tends to be rather click-baity. This is where optics count in politics though isn't it. Certain groups you just really need to have on side, or at least do everything you can to do so.

One thing you’ll get from us on the “far left” is honesty as far as Labour is concerned - it’s not like the blind devotion you get from those on the other side of the fence. Truthfully, I had very low expectations regarding Starmer pre the election, but I’ve been shocked as to how I can find virtually nothing I can relate to him about - he’s a football fan I suppose, but it’s a struggle after that, I honestly can’t see how he ever joined the Labour Party in the first place.

Well Labour have had getting towards two days now to get their side of the story out and Ive not seen or heard anything yet on that front - maybe they’ve decided they don’t need a Director of Communications after the last one resigned?

There's no point in debating the state of the country with a conspiracy theorist who doesn't vote
It's like the French resistance trying to persuade the I can't be bothered peasants moaning about the nazis

Just like David Cameron , Starmer is a Big fan of the Smiths so that's good enough for me

Re: Our glorious Prime Minister.
I'm not really sure what people expected? The same fiscal and market pressures that boxed in Liz Truss apply now. Their very narrow definition of "crashing the economy" means that they are only ever a hairs breadth from that themselves. The reality of problems like immigration and housing and the small boats etc are now theirs to deal with and they realize it's much harder in government. Labour are now even talking about third countries themselves, which makes me angry as they should have supported the last govt on it
https://www.lbc.co.uk/politics/uk-po...o-the-balkans/
I do think they deserve some credit for apparently reducing waiting lists, albeit slightly and apparently when compared to a time of a jnr doctors strike, but still. I think he has shown some fairly good diplomatic skills treading difficult territory too. Finally, they do deserve more time of course.
But yeah, life is no better than under the Tories and it was never going to be really.

Yeah I was looking for a Burnham take on it as I tend to trust his ability to be diplomatic when required but honest, and also this is a particular interest of his and I couldn't find one.
Won't get any arguments from me about the completely shit Comms from number 10, but that seems to be with or without a director of communications. I think it's pretty clear from the last 10+ years (including this 9/10 months of labour) that whatever the government, number 10 is filled with sneaky little limpets who attached themselves to the right boat but don't offer much.

What's absolutely simple to understand is that you are further right than even you know
It's laughable that despite this new government being poor you can't even accept that they have reduced NHS waiting lists ....apparently , maybec, whatever etc etc ....and you still cling on to your tory boy habits
You are pathetic
Why not just say good news that despite being a very poor start at least the nhs cash injection has reduced waiting lists?
Even this positive either isn't that great or you can't even choke yourself enough to accept it as fact ....apparently
if it's pissing down with rain then if that doesn't suit your Billy bunter musings ....its possibly cloudy or some other soppy nonsense verbal spaghetti
You clown 🤡

I'm the only one who has recognized the positives on this thread you dopey sod. I'm the only one who mentioned it, and other things such as his diplomacy.
Honestly, the state of you, sometimes.
And for the second time in about three days. Quit the personal insults. What I posted there in no way justifies what you've written and I think a lot of people are fed up with it tbh.

Have you noticed though with these right wing loonies - it’s no longer the far left but the radical left?

No, you listen to me. I posted my thoughts on Keir Starmer which contain some pro's and con's. Everyone else just criticised him. Aside from the preposterous nature of that leading you to call me Tory boy and "Right wing" it's the insults that follow that fk me off. It's completely illogical and toxic.
You did this on the other thread where I posted a BBC article saying the US was negotiating with Ukraine and Russia. An unequivocal fact and a more anodyne article you couldn't find. For that I ended up getting 16 (sixteen!) entirely unrelated personal insults. Now I have half a dozen more here just a day or two later.
It's totally unrelated to the topic at hand and way beyond normal and it's borderline harassment tbh.
Stop it or I will have no issue whatsoever asking for you to be banned again as you just make this place entirely toxic and unwelcoming. Robust debate is one thing, we all enjoy that but offering nothing but insults is quite another.
So do yourself and everyone else a favour and please stop it.

They cripple the economy and hinder growth, making austerity measures more severe and prolonged. They are realising that Labour lacks an endless supply of money—spending cuts are necessary, and financial support diminishes when economic growth stalls and too many people depend on a shrinking base of taxpayers.

He's too thick to realise this, it's why you have Trump in a landslide, it's why unless they can lock him up farage will win in a landslide the only way they can stop it is what they have done in Brazil, Romania and now in France, Sludge and his radicals don't give a **** about the poor as long as he is fleecing grannies with his cash in hand jobs he and his kind just come on here virtue signalling look at me look at me, he's a fraud and always has been, it's great that a few on here are now calling him out, it's obvious his gig is getting exposed, his responses are no longer funny and are getting nastier and nastier, next time he's banned I hope it's for good.ive said it previously they despise family life, his hero yesterday totally ignored the tradition of wishing our mums, current, no longer with us and future mums a happy mothering Sunday, the current PM is a piece of shit, his party is disgusting on all levels and he voted for it, and has the audacity to call out anyone who decided I've had enough of this uni party system. I was encouraged on Friday when going out in a large group that youngsters are now opening up about their futures and don't have to hide the fact that the only option for them is reform, personally and as I have mentioned many times before they aren't a party that would make me go back to voting but I've seen enough of the Tories and Labour to. Understand why some would choose this option, I think Farage is as controlled the same as the other leaders, just mention borders and immigration to increase the split in society but once he gets over the line it will be business as usual with the same outcome as the other two parties, however, the electorate are entitled to vote for anyone on the ballot without the constant abuse this individual and his back up squad continues to pedal, IMO you do not convince people to think your way with a constant barrage of vitreol, just look at the hatred by a few in America against Musk, the violence against people who have his cars had been off the scale, there are 3 Teslas in my street with my neighbor having one of them, the thought of creating a scene or damaging his car isn't an option or a thought process, these left wing violent radicals have the opposite affect and people are peddling down, holding their noses and voting to the right. Look at the democratic options in the just gone US elections, there wasn't a Democratic option just a deep state globalist radical anointed and the people said stuff you it isn't happening.
Corbyn was nuts but he was a peaceful nut, I'd welcome him back as the Labour leader in a heartbeat over this current shyster.whatever happened to the greenham common peaceful left ? How did the left become radicalized with hate.?

Why are these youngsters choosing Reform, what policies of theirs are proving so popular among them?
Trump’s “landslide” was by 1.5 per cent I believe.

Re: Our glorious Prime Minister.
Heathblue - you make some good points but you’re equally as biased. This new craze of referring to the left as radicalised is laughable when they don’t come more radicalised than the MAGA movement and Reform. As for violence and hatred? Well, the political right has a history for that doesn’t it?

It's not long ago I wished you well regarding your dad
But you are a freaked out conspiracy nutter and for many years have been moving to the right
Please don't play the nuance card as all your ire is directed towards the lefties
You are about as balanced as a collapsed bridge
The only grannies I have had contact with over the last 20 years was in my befriending and support role for a local charity
My DRB checks passed with flying colours you brain melt
Keep out of the sun and the next time you complain about the state of the country , as we all do , you can tell us how you are going to change things by the radical idea of not bothering to vote 😀
