I usually run a VPN to show that I’m in the UK, primarily to prevent shite adverts and pop ups that I would get here and other places.
It’s also good while being a pain in the arse with the cookie GDPR thing.
I just tried to view a menu for a place I’m going for lunch tomorrow and it’s blocked.
Took off the vpn…no problem.
It seems a bit of an overreach to me.
Any thoughts about it?

Seems to me it's a good idea, with some flaws. There seems to be some smaller sites getting affected that perhaps don't have the funds to get the necessary checks in place, which is an issue, and there needs to be a way around this. But making it harder for kids to stumble upon offensive content is a good thing (Obviously older ones will find the workaround of a VPN - It is what it is).
Seems to be me though it's the old Farage voters kicking up the biggest stink, because they can't work out how to access pornhub.

There absolutely is a way to stop it on lots of devices, but that's dependent on the parents being able or motivated to do it. Unfortunately that won't be the case in many cases. Not being all "think of the children" but there really is some warped stuff that's a few unfortunate clicks away. While this doesn't seem to be a perfect solution, it's equally crazy to have everything open. When I was younger the best you could hope for was page 3, without serious effort.Quote:
