  1. Re: Wales Online batting for Bulut again.

Correct. There's part of me that says someone who has been involved in professional football all his life must know what he's doing. The other part of me thinks he's totally clueless !

  3. Re: Wales Online batting for Bulut again.

It seems fanciful to suggest, but it was if Bulut hadn't yet had a chance to get the team playing his way. Almost as if the side was playing off the cuff.
  4. Re: Note of Online Meeting with Cardiff City Legal Advisors - 14 May 2024

Yep, just maintaining the status quo, ie, Championship status..
  5. Re: Wales Online batting for Bulut again.

Not with me. Two new 2yr deals for both Wintle & Ralls, £1m plus on Turnbull, Siopis and Guotas, playing loan signings right up until the last minutes of the season, which ended with City having the...

    Re: badge change

I think the 'Riverside' badge is a bit fanciful. There aren't any extant pictures of the shirts, just a mention of the colours..

Re: Who's going to blink first then?

He's been offered a 1yr contract - that's pretty much agreed. A manager with just Turkish football experience isn't going to be snapped up by a club in a better position than City, and I don't think...
  10. Re: Microchips in Humans - was this always going to happen?

My youngest is 36 and he reckons 'our' time[s] was the best. Not financially, but just the way we worked, lived our lives and the total lack of neurosis and anxiety that seems to permeate every ounce...

    Re: Was it my imagination...?

Normally, the dreadful football could reasonably be excused taking into consideration our elevated league position, but in truth I think we ended up there by means of a fair bit of good fortune..
  12. Re: Leverkusen Team Will Get 20 Million Jude Gets 25 Million Just For Himself

Yes, like there really isn't enough football on TV for people to watch now. You could probably watch it for 12 hours every day of the year if you desired. There's even a choice of 2 or 3 games most...
  13. Re: Quiz Question. Which City player fielded for Glamorgan in the 1968 Sobers/Nash six sixes over match ?

Yes, I read that too. According to the BoE website £100 in 1950 is worth £2,850 today. So he was on the equivalent of over £3k per week [ probably more like £5k as I doubt he was paying tax on the...

Re: Fancy a pint....at The Vulcan?

Maybe one of those 'craft' beers, perhaps with a light, fruity flavour. Can't recall where [!!] but a few months' ago walked into a pub where there were probably a dozen or so different 'pumps', not...
  16. Re: Leverkusen Team Will Get 20 Million Jude Gets 25 Million Just For Himself

Football has become totally bizarre. You could pump £trillions into the top teams and they'll still end up in massive debt as salaries and transfer fees rich frightening levels. I'd hoped the EFL...
  17. Re: Quiz Question. Which City player fielded for Glamorgan in the 1968 Sobers/Nash six sixes over match ?

Played him a couple of times in the Cardiff snooker league. Could make a century break with ease. In one game against me he notched up a 70+ break while munching on a sandwich !!

    Correct !!

  21. Re: Attendance as a Percentage of Capacity

In hindsight a 25,000 capacity stadium would suit us better. Some games, some seasons might be a bit on the small side but with gate receipts being less and less significant financially, better to be...

  24. Re: Attendance as a Percentage of Capacity

60/61. 45,463. Took City to 6th in 1st Division after 32 games ! Next game H v Blackpool, 19,754. City lost next 5 games, on the beach probably. [Butlins Minehead..]
  25. Re: Rob Phillips - Bulut has been offered a one year contract.

I reckon he'll stay - and if he does, come Christmas when we are being tortured again by plodding, pedestrian football played by plodding pedestrian footballers, he'll be off [by 'mutual consent]'..
