I don't agree with Zaha and don't think what he says is powerful at all. "Taking the knee" I think began with Colin Kapernick who did it while the US national anthem played. The point being you're supposed to stand reverentially. Not doing so was very, very powerful. Kapernick (partially at least) lost his career for his actions. He is to be lauded for his bravery. Zaha is of course completely entitled to do as he likes. I always feel a sense of optimism when sports people protest racism (in whatever form) and extreme pessimism when people boo.Originally Posted by StraightOuttaCanton
