    Your Favourite Pundit Euros.

I am a big radio listener and found Stuart Pearces views very informative and knowledgeable.

I even turn TV commentary down and link him and Talk Sports to the TV game ..

None of them. I watch football matches without the sound, can't stand commentary, i don't get it, i can see what is going on and what might happen. I no other aspect of life do we have somebody telling us what is happening when we can all see what is happening. It's really strange.

Ally mcoist best unbiased pundit ,Shearer is the most biased and mind numbing pundit.

As a commentator, I’ve always liked what’s his name Wilson on the BBC, maybe because he did the game with Belgium - McCoist as a summariser.

not sure which side to watch the final, shearer and his trent jude and harry and gareths doing a great job or that idiot ian wright and the dream team women on the pitch shrieking what a wonderful atmosphere

Probably Ally McCoist once you get in tune with his accent. I've also got to give Gary Neville his due. He gives a well balanced unbiased assessment, completely the opposite of Ian Wright.

The worst for stating the bleedin' obvious is Roy Keane. He only knows two words, 'quality' and 'fight'. He seems to know nothing about the intricacies of the game and leaves that up to others to discuss.

I do like Keane’s celebration of English goals mind.

I avoid the punditry sessions pre/ht/post as I have far better things to do than listen to their (mostly) pointless guff and statements of the bleedin' obvious. I find the in-game contributions of Ally McCoist far superior to any of the other contributors.

Steve Wilson. He's been the best BBC commentator for many years in my opinion, yet Mowbray gets everything. Glad Wilson did an FA cup final a couple of years back - would have been a shame for him not to get that gig once, remembering how long it took Barry Davies to commentate on a cup final.

I was slightly surprised to hear Steve Wilson commentate on the Championship playoff final this season on ITV's highlights show. Turns out that he's a freelancer and commentated for the World feed that afternoon, of which ITV used the commentary.

True, he seemed as happy as I was when Watkins hit the winner.

Gary Neville has probably been my favourite out of the pundits. I think he's quite switched on and offers a lot more sensible football chat than the other biased ex England players (Keane aside who's out there on his own!! ).
The Spurs manager Ang P was also very good.

From a live commentary point of view, I watched yesterday evenings game and Lee Dixon was absolutely shite. He offers nothing and just sounds like an excited fan they've grabbed off the street.

Roy Keane is good entertainment, I really enjoy the Stick to Football podcast.

Don't tend to listen to them anymore. Both channels think football fans have the intelligence of Ferdinand and Shearer. There's plenty of analysis elsewhere if you need it.

I'd be happy if they dropped ALL the commentators and just gave me stadium sounds. I'd even be happy to watch the warm-ups as long as there's no commentary.

    Absolutely agree!

I think all channels should provide an option for no commentary, stadium atmosphere only. We don't have commentary when we go to watch live games and I doubt anyone has missed it. It's not essential either to know that one of the players' aunty's dogs was a former contestant at Crufts and came third!

    Really? Tell me more!

I’d rather turn it down like tuerto said but find it odd with no sound.
Much prefer if you could press a button to turn them off

Definitely not Danny Murphy or Jermaine Jenas.
Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville seem quite knowledgeable about the game and put that over fairly well. Maybe that's because, as defenders, they have a better perspective of the game from their position on the pitch?

Ha ha maybe I didn't hear that one but a lot I've heard has been equally banal.

Crowd noise should be an option. The Production team mute the crowd noise a fair bit, no Commentary, no punditry, just cranked up crowd noise. All people seem to do is moan about pundits, commentators etc. Another option would be to have a fan on punditry, 2 options, old school stuck in the eighties type, 'Whack it' 'Stop Poncing about' And new wave, all skyed up, "Low Block' False Nine' and all that.

Crowd noise was an optional extra for matches broadcast during covid, so it would be nice if commentators were now.
