    Re: Elon Musk

Quote from the Guardian from jon59 in the Trump thread:

In an escalation of discontent among the highest-profile far-right followers of Donald Trump, his former adviser Steve Bannon has called Trump’s newest favorite, Elon Musk, “racist” and a “truly evil guy”, pledging to “take this guy down” and kick him out of the Maga movement.

In an interview with the Corriere della Sera newspaper in Italy, excerpts of which were published this weekend by Breitbart, Bannon criticised Musk’s embrace of some forms of immigration and vowed to ensure that Musk does not have top-level access to the White House.

“He is a truly evil guy, a very bad guy. I made it my personal thing to take this guy down,” Bannon said. “Before, because he put money in, I was prepared to tolerate it – I’m not prepared to tolerate it any more.”

He added: “I will have Elon Musk run out of here by inauguration day”, which falls on 20 January. “He will not have full access to the White House. He will be like any other person.”

Sounds like this Bannon guy and Musk deserve one another. It seems Bannon was happy for Musk to put money into the Trump mission but now realises that Musk is perhaps not the nicest philanthropic chap after all!

Looks like we'll find out if Trump prefers Leon or Steve.

Well a week really is a long time in politics!

Last week it was only fascists and the far-right calling for inquiries and the like.

Now it's the home secretary! Maybe it wasn't fascism to begin with? Just sensible and correct? 🤷

    No it wasn't.

Oh it was reasonable people too was it? Funny I don't recollect that being said.

Starmer did say only last week, that:

[MPs] calling for inquiries because they want to jump on a bandwagon of the far-right.

An extraordinary U-turn from the govt, but the right decision

It's an interesting theory that could explain a few things. The trouble is most people can only see things in the here and now, and they miss the small incremental changes that occur over time. If Gary is right, then I would say there are two competing billionaire factions, the one that want's to throw you a bone, and the other that want's to obliterate you, or maybe they are two sides of the same coin?

Perhaps it is because of this kind of thing:

Team Trump's revenge on Starmer for 'meddling' in the US election: How President could veto Mandelson as ambassador, humiliate Starmer in Washington and plot to help Farage into No10

Everything will be releveled in the coming weeks, months & years. All we have right now is opinions about what other people have said about things that haven't happened yet. However, there are plenty of data points to measure what does happen in the future, Starmer not attending the inauguration being one of them, and his food/energy/free speech policies being another. Buckle up buttercup, it's going to be a wild ride.

A Trump ally told The Mail on Sunday: It was election interference, plain and simple. Who the f*** do these people think they are?

Trumps view is its none of their business what is going on here and they should have kept out.

'How could their meddling possibly achieve anything? It didnt. But its left a nasty taste in the mouth as far as President Trump and his team goes.

'What a f***ing cheek these people have. And it didnt do any good because Kamala was useless and clearly so were they.

A simpler answer would have been just wait and see.
