Since Riza took over… the stats

Since our 4-1 loss to Hull, Riza has managed 21 Championship games. I’m excluding the Hull game on the basis Riza only had a couple of days to work with the team and there was a noticeable difference in the 6 games after Hull away. Which I’d attribute to Riza’s influence.

In that time we’ve taken 27 points and sit 12th in the form table.

We’ve scored 29 goals, joint 6th in the division.

    We’ve conceded 26 goals, joint 12th.

We’ve lost 6/21 games. 6 teams have lost less than us.

We’ve won 6/21 games. 7 teams have won less than us. (5 other teams have won 6 games)

We’ve kept 5 clean sheets, but only 1 in the last 16 games.

    We’ve scored in 16/21 games.

We’ve scored in 7 games in a row.

Personally, I think our biggest issue going forward is our defence and not the lack of goal scorers. We’ve lost points due to our poor defence. Not our poor attack.

Good stats, he's done well especially as we were in a state when he took over.

We've been good recently with the seven-game unbeaten run and Chambers and Rhino have improved us. Onwards and upwards, we need to win against Derby and the other teams around us.

Part of us conceding some of those goals has been game management - whether it's nervous payers sitting deeper to keep hold of points or changes by Riza that have worked against us. But like the stats suggest, I think he's been pretty good on the whole.

    We are getting better.
Look much more confident at the front and the back .

Its been a while since I watched a side and thought they are miles better than us. Be interesting to see us against one of the top sides.

Results have been good in 2 spells and not so good in one. Riza has made plenty of mistakes and we'll see whether having a manager who is learning on the job is a risk. Whatever our opinions on Riza, though, for him to be getting anything out of these players asks the question of how poor a manager was Bulut?

Nice to hear the whole ground chant his name for the second home game in succession
