    Manager commets post Bristol City

    Omer Riza

“I thought we played quite well today. I thought there were elements of the game I was really happy with. I think we just need to be a little bit more threatening at times.

“I’m disappointed we let a goal in from a set play, which put us on the back foot a little bit. We made life hard for ourselves today with some of the mistakes.

“Going one nil down and then to show the character to come back and take a point is really important. It’s a big point again - would we have liked three, yes, but we have to be happy with the point.

“The boys showed great character, the subs were very impactful,” he said. “The combination with the three that come on, I think Chris Willock was lively, Rambo’s [Aaron Ramsey] pass, Ash’s [Cian Ashford] cross and Salech’s movement in the box to score is credit to them.

“He [Ramsey] came on, showed character, leadership and quality. It was a sublime pass, we know that’s the quality he’s got, and he made two, three or four passes like that which were key opportunities, which is what he’s good at.

“He is knocking on the door, he’s scored three goals now,” Omer explained. “He’s coming on in games that are difficult.

“I think it’s good that it’s pushing Callum [Robinson], and Salech is definitely knocking on the door, I’m really happy and it’s a good problem to have.”

"I'm frustrated, disappointed to concede so late. The lads were quite honest as to why, the difference away from home in the way we manage the game.

"We were relatively comfortable but the one time we switched off we got punished. The big bit for me is taking more care of the ball. How do you take the sting out of it?

"We're hugely frustrated. I feel for the lads a little bit because they left it all out there. The schedule has been ridiculous. It becomes neglectful on the players when you cram in so many games."
