Random thought and I don't expect any replies in this thread. Gareth Southgate is 54 and normally seen as quite a modern coach and quite young in relative terms.
John toshack when he took wales first time was about 44 and then 54 when he took over the 2nd time.
Yet tosh was kind of perceived as a dinosaur by that time and was ridiculed for his outdated methods etc..... seen more as a Roy Hodgson type in his 70s.
Not sure why i thought of this but any other people you can think of who are generally perceived as being older or younger than they are?

Those who remember him as a player may not be suprised by that but that one never seems right to me.
