Here's another from the same season - Huddersfield were awarded a penalty at the CCS, but the decision was then overturned. Warnock was happy with that one.

Didn't Warnock get annoyed with Mike Dean at Burnley in our last season in the Premier League? Can't remember the exact details now, but I think he may have awarded us a penalty and then changed his mind.

Mike Dean's handling of that game left a taste in the mouth. As far as I can reflect there were four penalty-incidents for City that Dean ignored plus the incident mentioned in the article.

I also remember that one of Burnley's goals was allowed to stand by Dean despite a Burnley player being no more than a yard in front of the City goalkeeper and in his line of sight.

Yes, and that was a stonewaller. Camarasa had the ball on the spot and was ready to take it, it was bizarre.

I have some memory of a penalty being overturned at Ninian Park around 2006? I can't remember the opposition, but the penalty was cancelled because the linesman indicated a foul by the opposition in their half in the buildup to the incident where the penalty was awarded.

Yet, we are told that the game is as honest as the day is long. Yeah? Only the gullible can hold unswervingly to that, methinks these days. Yes, City may get the occasional decision ... thankfully the lino knew the Laws of the Game better than the man with the whistle at Blackburn last Saturday but the integrity of the game has never been lower. The introduction of VAR and the incessant meddling with the Laws have opened up a can of worms.

I think there was one involving James Maddison in the PL. I believe the referee was Lee Mason who ruled a dive as Maddison tried to get a penalty. The lino got involved but Mason stuck to his original decision.
