And I don’t mean in a playing capacity.
His injury record showed it was obvious that game time would be limited especially in a physically demanding championship season.
With his future coaching / managerial aspirations surely he should have a bigger part than being the odd media personality.
He'd be wise to keep his head down, he won't want to be linked to taking us down, just as he looks to start a Managerial career.
Is it a no lose situation for him though? If we go down then nobody was really expecting anyone to be able to save us in our current state with 4 games to go - if he kept us up he really would be a legend. Plus, he must be frustrated that he's not been able to contribute more on the pitch so this is a chance to put that behind him.
It would hardly be on him if he took over now would it?Christ alive this has been coming for years, even last year it was pretty obvious, a shocking goal difference a few fortunate wins bumped us up about 5/6 places higher than where we should have been. It came home to roost for tan this season though. I’d put Ramsey and Ralls in charge now, we won’t get another point otherwise. Riza has destroyed any confidence and talent out there, it’s almost laughable.
I think it would be some leap to just expect Ramsey to want to be a manager at the moment, i've never heard him say that. Particularly one in our situation when he has barely got his badges.
It may be he just wanted the badges whilst he was here and the opportunity arose to get them done, perhaps he will become a coach, maybe not.
He was a bloody good player but as a coach he would be far less experienced than even Riza when he joined. If we are saying well anyone but Riza then given our track record it's far more likely Tan would put Purse or Ramasut in charge.
In response to the op he may well be involved behind the scenes, if he is then he's unlikely to want to shout it from the rooftops at the moment. Chances are hes not involved and is focused on still playing next season.
Why Ralls to take over? Ramsey I can understand to a degree but he might not have the qualifications/knowhow either. Have we become hypnotised by the south east accent? Or is it the old he's-old-and-been-here-a-while-so-let's-give-him-a-coaching-job malarky, so beloved of the suddenly sentimental fan.
just for clarification
Ramsey has been awarded the UEFA A license
Ralls has no formal listed qualifications
Riza has been awarded the UEFA A license
Riza has been awarded a UEFA Pro Coaching license
Riza has been awarded the UEFA B coaching badge
Various FA coaching and Youth Coaching badges too
According to abbadanato at Wales on line warnock been asked to step in but tan yet to agree?
If Abbandanato has genuinely been told that (and let's be honest, his 'journalism' has become very ropey in recent years), I'd guess he's been told by Dalman. And I'd guess it's Dalman's way of trying to absolve himself from any blame for the current mess. "I'd have brought Neil back, but Vincent wouldn't let me."
Just like he was going to smooth things over between Tan and Mackay a couple of days before Malky was sacked...
