I thought Gary Linekar was spot-on yesterday when he said supporters of political parties or more so if they were left or right wing, whatever your viewpoints, have become more tribal than football supporters.
He said at least football supporters can admit when their team have had a stinker and concede ground, but in politics it appears to be impossible for people to give any ground whatsoever and will try and defend the indefensible. On both sides people have become so extreme in their views that there is little chance of unity at the moment.
