I think that is an excellent summary and would require zero adjustments or edits when considering what God says about the soul; the Bible also informs us that the soul cannot be destroyed and that God has made this 'most authentic part of a characters being' to be eternal; and as we see below, even modern writing is not unfamiliar with this thought.
