We think we've had problems.... Blackburn wrote the script. From Saturday's Guardian (before the Man U cup game and Coyle's bullet):
https://www.theguardian.com/football...-venkys-fa-cup
They might have a problem finding any of their top choices willing to take that job.
There is anger, not only towards Venky’s but also the football authorities who allowed Venky’s in. Parliament’s recent vote of no confidence in the Football Association’s ability to govern the sport echoes what regulars at Ewood have been saying for years.
Sometimes it's not just the owners at fault (who are there to make money, surprise surprise) but the fans.
There's not a glut of money in the championship. Wages are still high, as are transfer values but tickets remain, at times low and so does revenue from TV in comparison to the Prem.
I can't stand this about football, groups of fans that feel that they have a god given right to frivolous spending and endless investment into their club. Venkys in this instance aren't the best 'supporters' and neither are they blessed with the greatest business-accumen. Football is a weird industry if you wish to make money. But that's not to say that their venture in principle cost cutting is the wrong move, sometimes it's just luck. Look at Warnock. He's said that while some clubs are looking at 12m for one player we're looking to spend half that on 4 players. If Warnocks plan of bringing in the 4 freebies didn't work as well as Zahore coming of age - we'd probably have the same protests of Tan. It's down to the players and Warnock pulling their socks up.
If those players turned out to be duds which is a strong possibility whether you pay obscene amounts or pay nothing at all; We'd be in the same predicament. Probably criticising Tan and co regardless.
Looking at Blackburns players they're not actually that bad. They should be higher than they are. It's the toxic environment that's making them worse. And that can come to any club with a poor run of games.
If you want a community club, fine but don't whinge when you're not paying ludicrous transfer fees too. You can't have your cake and eat it.
To be honest I watched the live game against Man Utd and though Blackburn were OK.
Not only that, like you say, I was surprised to see and hear the players they have and was surprised at the position they are in.
Not sure if a change of manager is the answer but they should be at least mid table.
I can't be bothered to read all of your post as everyone can see that the Venkys have written the text book on how to ruin a decent club, from their very first move of sacking a perfectly good manager in Sam Allardyce (like Birmingham sacking Rowett for Zola - pure stupidity).
And it has just got worse.
I very much doubt that many managers would consider working there. Certainly not bright young managers.
