I work with people at risk of losing their tenancy, and try and help them get back on track and make a success of independent living.Trouble is,we are getting more and more referrals through for people in temporary accommodation or sofa surfing and trying to find them somewhere to live, and as you would know Sludge, there is precious little accommodation out there.Very frustrating.
The lack of decent , low cost rented housing for the vulnerable in society is a disgrace , as a support worker you will know it's not just finding somewhere to live for people , it's trying to ensure they keep it ......helping them with benefits , work , working with other agencies if they have substance misuse problems , mental health issues etc ..........keep up the good work mate !!!
