Maybe she's recently homeless..maybe she's good with wjat money she does get and doesn't waste it..

Recently homeless - she's been a fixture for at least 3 years.

If someone is really that destitute then a mobile phone (of any description) is not something that she needs to advertise.

Many of these Big Issue sellers set up outside premium stores knowing that they can coax £20+ per hour from generous, largely middle aged / retired folks who prefer quality food items and a less stressful experience than shopping at the major stores.

Would like to view the CCTV to see if she gets into her car at the end of a shift.

I mentioned it as I have absolutely no knowledge on this woman at all.
I'm dubious as to whether people in my home town are genuinely homeless, it's not nice to be suspicious.

When you are ready,have a look at the Llamau website and look at the relief worker posts,it’s overnight in a supported housing project,but you get to sleep and the money is quite good-it will also give you experience for when a permanent position comes up.

Christ I used to do loads of work with them when I worked in housing in Cardiff...93 to 95

Our project was based on Tudor road , below Cardiff single women's housing group , then we moved to city road , opposite the roath pub , we helped kids leaving care find housing and supported them to help them keep it , assisted with benefits etc

I work with people at risk of losing their tenancy,and try and help them get back on track and make a success of independent living.Trouble is,we are getting more and more referrals through for people in temporary accommodation or sofa surfing and trying to find them somewhere to live,and as you would know Sludge,there is precious little accommodation out there.Very frustrating.

Old Office Space has to be the solution to low cost temp accom, Near me on a commercial estate, a large call center has moved out ( about 5 years ago ) the site is 6 acres large, Most of that is a building ( all ground floor ) a central hub with spider legs coming of it, all with office space, the building is only 15 years old, now that would solve the homeless issue for the entire south west

use some of it for accom and the rest of it to get them back to work, a place that they can learn new skills, even do practical stuff

Society does not want to do it though, councils will say " we have no money " people will not want it on the doorstep ( its in the next town to me, so i will be ok )

Will look into it in the new year, possibly nearer summer. Sure my mate was seeing a girl that worked for that company.

There is a place not far from me that has young homeless in accommodation, the people there were worried about house prices and anti social behaviour..I can kind of see where they are coming from as there were incidents reported regularly at one point..but they everyone needs a place to stay and society as a whole needs to pitch in.

If you need to see a old Office space being used to a great use for the community ( not homes though ) then look no further that " stokes croft " near the centre of Bristol, a Brilliant use of a space, a community cafe on the ground floor, then rental-able space up the floors

I remember reading a report which said a third of Big Issue sellers are Romanian. I used to give the purchase price to a seller always stood outside Queen Street station until I saw him unwrapping 20 Embassy Regal. No-one and no charity has received a bean from me since so as to guarantee I don't get suckered for a second time.

I'm with you on that one!
About 12 months ago I was working on a construction project the meant I had to walk the full length of Queen street every morning on my way to work. The bottom end was like negotiating a mine field. I had occasion one moning to feck off one beggar who was walking next to an old lady touching her shoulder to shoulder constantly asking her for "95p" for a cup of coffee.
One morning I was walking from Quay Street across high street and there was a beggar I recognised walking to the cash point on the corner of Trinity street. The place was deserted and from the angle of his walk there was nowhere else he cpould possibly have been going.
When he realised I was behind him he turned round and asked me for money, "For some food for the homelss" with his visa card still in his hand.
Bet you can guess how much I gave him!

Sure.

But why are you so bothered about one person, and why so interested to the point of being interested in 'watching their movements' to see if they are up to something - when there is so much shit and injustice happening elsewhere?

The people begging on the streets (of which a few rare cases might not be quite what they seem, granted. - but not the vast, suffering, bereft majority) are not the ones causing the obvious rot in our society.
They are the result of it.
