Demolition work has started on a historic Cardiff hospital to make way for student accommodation.
Bulldozers have swept most of the west wing of the Cardiff Royal Infirmary away in Adamsdown as work starts on accommodation for more than 600 students.
The landmark building will be transformed into Glossop Hall and is one of the growing number of large-scale student accommodation developments across the city.

Wellington street, Riverside, when it was all terraced houses back then before the slum clearance. When I was 4 years old our home, and loads of others in our neighbourhood, was deemed not fit for human occupation.
They moved us out in 1962 when they condemned about 115 houses in the area, Wells street, north Morgan place, Wellington street, Ann street and others among the streets affected.
I'm told I was born in Northlands Maternity Home - a very long spit from Ninian Park.
