This football generation cares about one thing and one thing only - stats.

One of my favourite English footballers was Glenn Hoddle but the stats would tell you that Peter Crouch is better!

Andres Iniesta controls almost every game he plays in but the "stats" would tell you that Miroslav Klose was a better footballer than him.
