I had to buy another router, a Netgear N300 router. I checked the webpage of my VPN provider to find a suitable router that could install a VPN and got one they recommended.
Even then, it didn’t work out of the box. I had to flash it with software called
“Tomato” which allowed me to install my VPN account onto the router.
Not sure if there was an easier way. I let myself be guided by the support offered by my VPN provider.
I then had to direct any devices through that VPN router in order to use the VPN. A device talking to my main ISP provider router would only work as normal. i.e. without a VPN.

Yes I think I’m with you. Am I correct in saying you replaced your ISP router with this new one ?
