Now that Sludge has left this thread we can talk about him without him knowing.

When he says it is good to spend time and money on druggies he is half right. It is good, but it is only good for the givers and not the takers. Helping others less fortunate than you is good for you. It gives you a purpose and it stops you dwelling on your own problems. Unfortunately, it is not so good for the druggies because they are usually selfish gits who only care about themselves and they see good people like Sludge as "marks".

If you asked a druggie to turn their lives around by helping others they would laugh at you. They would say no one needs help more than me. I am the one who needs help. Forget about the others. Even if you could get them to spend a little time with an lonely old person who needs a bit of care around the house they would just steal from them.

Sludge gave us an Olivia Twist story but if you looked into her history you would find that she brought a lot her misfortune on herself by her own selfishness and impulsive behaviour. She would have messed around at school and played truant because school was "boring". Her mother wouldn’t have been able to stop her going out and hanging around on the streets with her friends because it was "boring" at home. She wouldn’t have listened to her mother when she warned her about her dodgy boyfriend. Why don’t you go out with John who works at the Coop. "Oh, he’s boring". She wouldn’t have wanted job a McDonalds because it was "boring". Why work all week for £200 when she can earn that in an hour doing something less boring.

Money wasted on druggies is money that could be spent on sick children and on better care for the aged.
