We could also flip that on its head and ask how many players would end up leaving us for promotion seeking sides? I suspect the number to be very low. Would Whyte attract interest from West Brom? No chance. If he's not good enough for them, why should he be good enough for us?

I suspect that he is a League One player at best from what I have seen so far anyway.

(I presume that managers, who surely know more about the game than we do, see potential in players like Whyte. So it is disappointing all round when the player doesn’t look like fulfilling that potential. At Cardiff City at least)

This is only his second season in League football, having spent last season with Oxford and prior to that playing in Northern ireland. It's a big step up which he has failed to make. I can't understand why Warnock paid £2m for him.
