What a gutless, lowlife, parasite excuse for a human being. Anyway on to my point, the story made the news here in Adelaide this morning.
Most likely a product of a defective society. Maybe he came from an abusive family of underprivileged, poorly educated, social outcasts.
It’s not always as simple as putting it down to rogue bad-eggs. We come from a violent society where you can get punched in the face for looking at someone wrong. You’ll know all about that , living in Australia.
It’s easier for me to understand why someone might attack another person for money if they are hungry and homeless than it is some beef cake who goes round nutting strangers because he/she can’t handle their drink.
Well said. Thanks for introducing some balance to the discussion.
There was another thread here yesterday about the same incident. It was full of nasty comments. This one has already gone the same way with more hate speech directed at the hardworking mugger.
I might begin to understand if he was a lazy mugger who would rarely attempt to steal from people while out and about, but that fella self-motivates himself to go on the rob most days whatever the weather.
Mugger looked more fragile than the old geezer
That is kind of my point, although it’s more the fact that ‘avin a scrap is considered par for the cause by a lot of people, and is maybe even regarded as a virtue by a large proportion of people in english-speaking cultures, which is almost as tragic as taking part in the act.
I can’t get my head round the fact that wales online publishes mug shots and names of convicted delinquents. It’s totally immoral in my and is a double standard.
Ok just to clear things up. I despise violence, always have always will. I do not condone fighting on a Saturday night but it doesn't make my blood boil. What does is when a lowlife attacks a defenceless OAP and immediately somebody will seek to justify the act from the perpetrator's point of view or at least look at the possible underlying reasons behind the attack. Would you feel the same if your parents/grandparents were the victims?
We don't need to be compassionate towards the homeless, hungry or poor anymore or delve into the depths of why a little boy with hopes and dreams grew up to be so desperate to rob people because we've a Tory government who show it's OK not to be so.
The threat of social thought-provoking, kindness and acceptance generator, "evil" Jeremy Corbyn has passed.
We have also freed ourselves from the iron-grip of the the European Union, so now we can all hark back with fondness to the days when the only black men around were the lads coming off shift with their Davey lamps and Britain had the power to starve entire populations into submission, should they take action against the way they were being treated.
Also, we can finally go back to France and Spain and loudly demand (in English) to be served at the table without any effort to display politeness and learn at least the most basic phrases in their language because they are no longer officially our friends, and therefore is nothing to lose.
It'll make for a nice change too - Instead of being dictated to by the EU (it must be true, as it was in The Sun), we can now be dictated to by the USA.
God bless America.
Fortunately, this type of thing has never happened to a member of my family and mugging in general is quite a rare event. I obviously wouldn’t feel the same but I have the benefit of emotional distance and can therefore have a more rational opinion of things. I try not to get drawn into the sensationalism and histrionics.
I DO know a guy called Arwel who got jumped coming to work at bar at 8pm on a Saturday night. He turned up in tears. Didn’t make the news in Australia or anything. He was 28 . He should probably man up or something.
This is one event among countless others.
I only now realise how unreasonable and totally unnecessary this behavior is after having lived in Europe for a decade. I can’t remember ever seeing a scrap.... and it is paradise.
I would far prefer to live with the outside chance of me or a loved one getting mugged than have to put up with the constant looming threat of violence when out socialising.
Defenseless people (or otherwise) getting attacked should make your blood boil (as it does in this instance). The fact it doesn’t just goes to show how normalised it is. Which is a terrible state of affairs if you as me.
An awful lot of rage on here for something that looks very suspect . A mugger who is kind to his victim .
Must be a Labour supporter of help the aged .
Alls well .
