I've been thinking about that question for a while.
My initial thought was that a labour government, especially a left one would have been more likely to have acted earlier.
Tories hate the government doing anything - ever. They want the free market and choice to solve all of our problems, so I think this was partly responsible for the delay in action at the start of this crisis.
Labour wouldn't have had this - but you can be confident that they would have had whatever action they produced very severely criticized in the media in a way that the Tories have mostly been insulated from thus far, which could itself have affected their choices, or how well the public would have stuck to the advice.

Other governments around the world have shown that with good leadership deaths could have been kept to a minimum and others have shown that things could be worse but not much more worse.
Well you’re saying there would have been fewer deaths under a different government, or even a different leader. How do you know that . The simple answer is, you don't. Just like the rest of us..

What about the countless examples of governments around the world handling it better?

What we do know is this Government's handling of it has been a total disaster.
