I'm a father of 3, and my response may or may not have been different. However i'd have alluded to the fact I'd get out of the car as long as the safety of the child I was carrying was paramount.

Its been said before, how you approach these situations can determine the outcome. I've been stopped previously, and within five minutes I was on my own. Why - because I understand that arguing with the police is futile and ends in only one outcome. Is it a pain in the arse - yes. Did I act sensibly so I could be on my way - yes.
